Did the job
One of the burners on my GE gas stove range (circa 1999) was still sending gas but wouldn't ignite. I troubleshot it and found the lack of a clicking sound when in "light" mode indicated it was probably an issue with this surprisingly simple device.Found a few videos on the internet that showed how to open up my range and saw that the D-shaped hole on the gas valve switch that aligns with the D-shaped pin that connects the gas mechanism to the control knob was worn down to almost a fully open circle. This meant the switch's interior contacts might even still be working but that the switch wasn't turning to engage when the knob was turned (like a stripped gear that's no longer synching with the parts next to it).Did a little more searching and found this part in a number of places but Amazon had a good price and the Prime-qualified shipping made it a no-brainer. I swapped the part for the old part by transferring the electrical connectors over (they come off with a little pressure, no tools necessary) and then sliding the switch back over the D-shaped peg and lining the pegs on the bottom with the top of the gas valve. In mere minutes it was working like new and I'd avoided an expensive fee for a simple fix. Really, the hardest part was just getting the range open since I'd not done this one before. Actually the hardest might have been cleaning up the ten years' worth of food that had gotten trapped under the range top, but let's not go there!I'm kind of surprised that a mass produced part this simple costs what it does, but nevertheless, it lasted pretty long so it was overall pretty reliable.

Unplug the cooktop first!
Works fine. Fast arrival. I took apart the cooktop only to find the wiring diagram. Tested the switches to see which one was bad. Put the cooktop back together so I could use it. Ordered part. When part arrived I took the cooktop apart again and replaced the switch then reassembled the cooktop. If you have one burner that the igniter is not working on it is the switch (99% chance) so just order a new switch THEN take the cooktop apart when it arrives and replace the switch. You can still use the cooktop in the interim. If you want to use the burner with the bad switch you can turn on that burner and any other burn at the same time and it will light the burner with the bad switch as igniter is wired to ignite all burners whenever one burner is turned on.

Perfect fit and works well
The part was a perfect fit for the cooktop, easy to install (plugs right in) and solved the problem for the single burner that was not igniting properly. Fyi, I noticed that the 4 burner switches are all wired in parallel, so when any one burner is turned on, all four receive an ignition spark from the single transformer, which is how I was able to narrow down the problem to just being the individual switch and not the transformer or the ignitor. I could light the problem burner by turning it on first and then momentarily turning on a second burner for the ignition. That makes narrowing down the problem a lot easier.

Excellent replacement for my ~2001 era GE Gas cooktop.
Excellent replacement for my ~2001 era GE Gas cooktop.Trouble shooting/installation instructions belowProblem Symptom: Unable to ignite a single burner, no clicking sound, gas works fine. You can ignite the burner with a match and/or setting an alternative burner to ignite and ignite both burners at the same time (be careful as you will be flooding gas as you reach for the second burner!)Repair steps:1. shut off gas2. remove knobs (simply pull up)3. remove grates, burners. remove 2 phillips screws per burner4. gently pull up glass top and slide to the side (you can remove, but this will require removal of igniters as well)5. remove wires from old gas valve switch (remember which side is which)6. replace new gas valve switch.7. Put everything back togetherGood luck!Dylan

Gas valve igniter switch for GE gas range.
A little more expensive than competitors but I bought because of Prime and delivery timing. Working well.

Don't buy in pairs
One of the two switches I ordered was broken when it arrived but I didn't have time to return or complain about it. One of the white, spigot locating arms had snapped off in transit I guess) Otherwise they functioned as expected, but I had to use a busted product in my customers stove which is not what I like to do.

Excellent replacement part
One of the burners no longer ignited on our GE JGP326 gas cooktop. After opening the unit, which is merely removing the 4 gas/ignition dials and undoing the screws in the middle of the burners, it was easy to swap this component with another burner and discover it was bad. Ordered this replacement, and BAM!, for about $20 and 15 minutes of my time, everything was working again.

Ce n'est pas une pièce d'origine
Fausse caractéristique n'est pas une pièce d'origine elle identique à une pièce de remplacement qui coute la moitié du prix
