The packaging of this spare kit is really nicely thought out. The spare comes in a nice and durable carry bag with all the components strapped inside the tire. The spare being alloy is also lighter than a steel spare tire would be.As luck would have it, our 2024 CRV Hybrid with 400 miles on it found a nail at 11:30pm inside a packed parking garage. The tire exploded so violently that it nearly came off the rim. Most critically, with the tire bead separated from the rim, there was no way the Honda provided foam/pump would work. My wife called me and I came with this spare kit to test it out.The jack provided is nice in that it has a 17mm nut which means I was able to use a power drill to slowly raise and lower the jack, bypassing the provided ratcheting handle. Fully extended to the dead stop, the jack is "just" tall enough on level ground to get the tires on and off an AWD Hybrid. Parked on the side of the road or in a less than ideal location, the jack could be just short. Thus, my one critique for the CRV is that the jack could be a little taller. Also, the jack was not properly lubricated when it arrived either. I have since lubricated the worm gear with lithium grease. I did not use the other provided tools, but they appear to be nice quality though.Once the spare tire was mounted, I drove about 10 miles home with the spare on a front tire. Steering and breaking were a bit impacted, as you would expect with a temporary spare. Though, the CRV did not complain about the brakes, the tires, or another condition when driven on the spare.Overall, I am grateful that I had the spare as it saved a sure tow bill. We will most definitely carry the spare when traveling through places one would not want to be stranded on the side of the road. The kit comes with everything you need to get the job done quickly and safely. Other than minor gripes about the jack, the kit is exceptional.

I purchased this spare tire kit for a 2023 Honda CRV Sport Hybrid - which does not come with a spare tire. The entire kit comes in a black cloth case with a handle and shoulder strap and weighs approximately 50 pounds. The kit includes the spare tire mounted on the wheel, a scissor jack, tools to remove or tighten the lug nuts and raise lower the jack, and an extra plastic cover to place around your flat tire to keep your car from getting dirty. It also includes a card within the case with a QR code so that you can have complete directions for changing a tire sent to your phone or saved as a PDF file that you can print. The directions for changing the tire are clear and simple. Although I did not have a flat tire, I did change a wheel to the spare and back again to the original wheel to be sure everything worked, however, I did not drive the vehicle with the spare on. The jack worked easily and the spare wheel/tire fit properly on the wheel studs. The lug nuts also fit properly. The kit also includes a set of larger lug nuts if needed, but I did not need these. Each wheel on my vehicle includes one locking lug nut. To remove the locked lug nut you will need to use the wheel lock key socket that can be found in a small black zippered honda pouch located in the hatch back storage area where the tire air pump can be found.

The Modern Spare Complete Compact Spare Tire Kit is a convenient for my 2025 Honda CRV Hybrid. The components feel sturdy and fit, and I like that it comes with everything I need, tire, jack, and tool kit, all organized in a compact package. It’s much better than relying on a can of sealant.

Our Honda CR-V hybrid did not come with a spare tire, and I'm not comfortable traveling out of town without one. I researched the available options, and this one from Modern Spare seemed like a good choice. I have not used it at this point, and hope to never need it, but it seems to be of good quality and includes everything needed to install it. The kit also includes a nice storage bag. The only thing I would like to see added is for the supplier to make one side of the storage bag rigid so it's more stable to stack cargo on top of it. I trimmed down the cardboard shipping material and inserted that into the bag for that purpose -- not ideal but acceptable. Some day I'll pick up a small sheet of masonite and cut out a better insert. It's not cheap but IMO the peace of mind when traveling is worth it.

I have a small SUV, a 2024 Honda CRV Hybrid Sport L, which came with no spare, only a reinflation kit. This would be OK in urban areas where service could be readily accessed if need be. However, I live in the intermountain west where distances between towns can be considerable and road service, if available, could take a really long time. I also go into backroad areas where hazards that might tear a side wall are more prevalent than on paved streets and highways. Thus, solely relying on the reinflation kit that came with the vehicle to fix a flat on an SUV is a bad idea. (Honda are you listening?) After researching my options for a dependable spare that I could drive at interstate highway speeds, if need be, the answer was obvious - Modern Spare. I received the tire a few days after I ordered it. It is nice looking and solidly built, unlike many other emergency spare donut tires made of formed steel. I did a trial mount on the car, and it fit perfectly. The only problem I experienced was when I didn't realize that there are two sets of 5 mounting holes that are not identical, even though at first glance they appear to be. Only one set will work. After having a bit of trouble getting the last two lug nuts to start on my first mounting attempt, I noticed the other pattern had very slightly larger nut access holes. After repositioning the tire on this other pattern everything went smoothly. All in all, I'm very pleased with the product and I'm glad to have the peace of mind that a good quality temporary spare provides. The tire will be strapped down in the rear deck cargo area under a fitted piece of plywood using ratchet ties to secure it in place. It will take up some deck space, but it will be worth it.

looks to be very good quality. continental tire. right now it sits/fits well in the back of my 2025 honda crv waiting for its turn.
