Clairol Shimmer Lights Shampoo 2 bottles of 16 Ounce

Love this shampoo, saved my blonde hair, really! After years and years of various processes including allover color, high-lights, and low-lights, my blonde hair was not holding a nice the blond color. It was becoming very brassy, very yucky I thought. I tried everything it seemed, even changed professional salons three times looking for answers. After months of researching what would help revive my hair color, I did the following:1. I used Malibu (hard water) packets for three consecutive shampoos washes; I wash my hair every other day. I do not have "hard water", but this fantastic product eliminates the build up of residue from chemical processing. IT IS GREAT STUFF! (*you can buy it here on Amazon, gold colored packets, Malibu for hard water)2. After 3 treatments of Malibu, I began using Clairol Shimmer Lights shampoo. WOW! WOW! WOW! I noticed a difference after one use, but after two uses, an unbelievable difference! My baby-blond high-lights looked wonderful, my hair looks fresh and vibrant, and the texture is wonderful, full of healthy, shiny, soft bounce! (*the Malibu cleanse took out the layers of deposited unwanted chemical and allowed Shimmer Lights to penetrate and brighten and tone my hair!)*How I applied Shimmer Lights: I wet my hair, apply a small amount of shampoo, gently combed through w/ a wide tooth wet comb, rinsed, apply once more, combed through and left alone for about 4-5 minutes, then add my regular shampoo, gently massaged through, rinsed, and then added my favorite conditioner.)I will definitely be using this shampoo intermittently on a continual basis. EXCELLENT SHAMPOO!

I have naturally blonde hair that I've never dyed/ highlighted and that has darkened from platinum to a dirty beige blonde over time, but still gets natural highlights from the sun. I haven't actually been out in the sun much until this summer because I now live at the beach, so my hair hasn't had the chance to naturally lighten in the sun for a very long time (like 5 years). Maybe it's because it's darker now, or the really hard beach water, or both, but this year when it started to lighten naturally from being on the beach so much it turned a brassy yellowy color on the top layer (where the sun exerted most of its effects!). I have never had this issue in the past, so I had no idea why it happened or what to do! With the exception of my hair turning green due to chlorine, I've never had issues with the color, and have never done anything to 'correct' it. I obviously cannot live with yellow hair, so I began scouring the internet which lead me to find numerous sources recommending this product to tone down brassiness in blonde hair. I used this shampoo and the matching conditioner for the first time today, left it on maybe 4 minutes because I was afraid of tiniting my hair lavender (the lady at Sallys warned me to be careful), and IT WORKED! After one wash my hair is considerably less brassy and I am SO HAPPY!I will continue to use it this week and maybe next, as my hair still isn't quite back to it's normal beige blonde, but that's probably because I should have left it on a few more minutes. I've read of people who leave it on as long as 10 minutes! I'm thinking 5-6 mins will do the trick for me though, and then I'll just use it weekly to keep the brassiness toned down. I did read that the shampoo was very drying, so I went ahead and used a deep conditioner after the shimmer lights one, and didn't notice any excessive tangles, dryness, or other unpleasant effects of the shampoo. When doing research a lot of people complained about the sent, and it IS a pretty strong old lady smell--like think of a perfume your grandmother would wear--but it doesn't bother me enough to stop me from using it.Pros: works well to tone down brassy tonesCons: smell is quite strong and old-lady perfumey

This is fantastic - I used it twice and it totally altered the hue of my hair! I have messily bleached hair with naturally colored (dishwater brown, tbh) roots, because I'm lazy. I don't mind it because I like that sort of grungy look, but I did mind the orange and yellow tones that were taking over my head as the bleached hair aged! Two washes with this completely changed the tone from yellow and orange to a nice ashy light and darker blonde! It works great & does exactly what it says it will. The smell is alright - not like especially enjoyable, but it's not offensive - it smells 'clean' to me. And it leaves my hair so soft and refreshed! The only thing I was initially disappointed with was that I thought I'd ordered a shampoo and a conditioner, not two shampoos. But obviously that's my fault! And honestly I love the shampoo so much now I don't even mind. Definitely buy it if you're looking to tone your hair but don't trust yourself when it comes to mixing actual toner. This is a quick, easy, and effective fix!

I have used the shampoo and conditioner for years after putting blonde highlights in my sandy blonde hair. This product works great for brightening your blonde hair to a brighter, blonder shade, and to maintain the color put in your hair longer. I would recommend using both the shampoo and conditioner for best results. This product is not the most moisturizing to your hair, and that's why I rate it 4/5 stars. Before brushing through your hair after using this product, I would recommend using a conditioning spray (I use "it's a 10") and then brush through. Be cautious not to leave this purple shampoo and conditioner in your hair too long, or you might have a slight purply tint to parts of your hair. Overall, I love this product.
