This clock is a cheaper knockoff of the DGT North American and looks almost the same, but the settings are different. I prefer the settings on this clock, but the two different programmable modes work differently which confused me at first.It is just slightly smaller than the DGT North American, which threw me off a little when hitting the button.I think that both brands are made from cheap plastic so I wondered about their long-term reliability. I previously said that I would try both clocks for a year and see how they hold up. My DGT North American broke, which was a simple mechanical problem where a button wasn't registering. I had trouble getting warranty service for the DGT North American because the manual says to return it to the place of purchase for warranty repairs, but the seller would not accept a return after 30 days. I was able to fix the problem by adding support underneath the circuit board which had come loose on one side. With the DGT North American, there are no screws holding the circuit board in place, only a couple of thin plastic tabs, and that was the problem.Given the problem that I had with the DGT North American, I would choose this less expensive knockoff. It looks about the same. You don't have to turn it off to reset it, and I prefer its settings.However, I wish that it had G/10, which is what I find that most people want to play, and 5+2 as the default settings. I use the two programmable settings for these time controls.

Grate clock, grate product for the price,large visible numbers on the screen … better price than DGT with 42 timing rules !!!

Chess takes too long, playing fast is best. Defaults to 5 minutes per player but you can choose whole lot of options. Nice dark blue color and red button top button. Its smooth click/thump, so don't expect to hear a loud snap. Still very satisfying though. Would recommend

I'm trying to use this to play Scrabble and can't figure out how to set up a game where each side has 30 total minutes.
