Thank you for your question. Ive uploaded a graph, in metric, which hopefully you can use if your aware of your ventilators specs. It can be found under the product pictures. Otherwise you need 10 pascals to open the vent in a 4 inch duct. The spring is relatively strong on our RKI series the RK series has a weaker spring. Because the RKI has a stronger spring we suggest it be installed after the ventilator with the flaps opening away from the ventilator. Hope this helps klimapartner

In a *horizontal* duct installation, is there an optimal orientation for the spring/blades? (e.g., orient spring horizontally or vertically)? Thanks.

Thank you for your questoin. If you install the damper parallel, horizontal, to the ground it doesnt matter which way the sping/blades are. My vent lines are already merged below the roof, to a 90° 4" vent roof pipe cover. Will your cover work for me? My old flapper broke.

Thank you for your question. Yes our backdraft shutter will work for you as long as you have a strong enough ventilator to push it open from that distance. The springs are stronger on the RKI then our RK model. If you install, which we recomend, the shutter right behind your ventilator you will not have any problems. Go a kitchen exhaust should this be installed close to the fan or closer to the exterior wall.

If your goal is keeping the cold or hot air out of the house, it should be installed near the exterior wall of house. It will attract less grease build up the further away from hood and it will be easier to service or clean if you can access it from the outside rather than opening up interior walls.

Stopped air reversion!!

My house has several exhaust vents, so air being sucked through my dryer vent while my hvac is running has been a battle. I would find condensation in my dryer drum on hot days due to the standard backflow valve that is installed on most exterior venting dryers being insufficient.This backflow valve slipped right into the back of the exterior backflow vent duct and has been there for over a month now, no consequence to dryer performance. It appears to be of a good build quality, seals well, and is of an excellent value. My dryer duct is a standard size, this will work in most homes. I dont recommend it be installed on the dryer side of the duct as the rubber may deteriorate due to heat.

Perfect!

I just installed it, and it works flawlessly.There are some comments that the springs are too strong, but in my case, I have not noticed this issue.I have a typical cheap fan, and I see flaps are moving- make sure this shutter is literally behind the fan unit.

Para evitar frío

Lo compré para una amiga, que tiene la salida de la campana estractora con un tubo directamente a la calle, y le entraba mucho frío. El diámetro es igual al tubo, lo sujetó con cinta americana. Parece de buena calidad, la campana funciona y no le entra aire.

dimensions et fonctionnement correct.

Bonjour,Clapet utilisé pour un extracteur d'air automatique de WC.Fonctionnement mécanique simple, l'air pousse les clapets lorsque l'extracteur fonctionne.A l’arrêt, les volets viennent au contact du joint torique et l'étancheïté est vraiment correcte.Les dimensions sont correctes, attention le clapet se loge dans un manchon ou la partie femelle du tuyau de 100.Pour la livraison, vu le poids vraiment léger de l'ensemble, une personne indélicate a ouvert le colis.Sans doute déçue de ne pas trouver une carte mémoire, il a néanmoins eu la gentillesse de laisser la livraison se poursuivre.Un coup de chance :)En espérant vous avoir été utile.
