I wanted to write this review to provide some details about the various sections included in this wonderful journal. The book starts off with diagrams and glossary info, followed by various plants names (common and scientific) so you can keep track of the specific plants in your collection. There's a section on pollinators and insects, as well as remedies for keeping your plants healthy. There's several blank pages with grids and space to draw, take notes, or create diagrams. There's a table to take notes about gardens that you have visited and gathered inspiration from, including suggested places to visit. In addition they're are blank checklist pages to keep track of ideas and to-do lists. Multiple pages with several to create your own actions guide to keep track of when to sew, plant, or harvest various plants. There are four sections, one for each season, to keep track of essential tasks for each season and mark them off as completed. There are several pages for entering specific plant information including name, water requirements, sun requirements, photos, characteristics, and notes - so you can have one page for each of the plants or flowers in your collection. There's also a section for recipes and pressing of cuttings. It's a very well designed and robust journal any garden enthusiast would enjoy populating.

This book is absolutely worth every penny you spend on it! It comes with an example recipe on how to use it (or how you could write down your own recipes) and it also comes with contents pages, a list for people to write their names and the date they got the book when passed down through generations, it has pages that tell you how to convert measurements, tells you how to know how cooked your steak is just by the firmness of it, oven temperatures, volume and weight conversions, a cooking glossary, defrosting time for poultry by weight and how long it will take using either the fridge or cold water, roasting times for stuffed and unstuffed items sorted out by pounds, cooking times for different vegetables, spaghetti portion sizes, measurement abbreviations for short and long, butter measurements, boiling times for different cooks of eggs, note pages, and pages to put pictures of family members in the “family hall of fame”.

This is a well planned and designed recipe book.Pros:- Hardbound book that lays flat- Black cover is timeless design with a pie on the front that will suite any family or gender in the bottom right corner the book reads 'My Family Cookbook'- There are three sections in the book that allow you to fill in what those sections can be. This is great for people who have restricted diets or who just like to group things differently, in todays world we don't generally cook a seven course meal anymore. I labelled mine appetizers, main dishes and deserts.- Table of Contents section - Allows you to fill in the name of the recipes, who created the recipe and the page number to find the recipe on- Helpful charts for temperature, weight and volume calculations- Cooking glossary- Cooking time guideline, measuring abbreviations, defrosting times for meats, roasting times as well as finger test for steak.- Also included for the novice cook how long to cook eggs (runny yolk, hard boiled)- Very personal touch for recipe book, a family hall of fame. Allows you to print photos of your family members and attach them to the book to be passed down for generations along with a line of their famous recipe.- notes section- Each page of the recipe has a hints a tips section, a photo for when you actually cook the recipe and a rating system.- In the back of the book there is a pocket for all the beloved family cut-out recipes and clippingsCons-- Only 80 pages- You have to hand write all the recipes (ha, obviously I'm a computer junky!)

i love this so much! if you can take away from any review let it be this one. i get so much anxiety w/ reviews because you never know what ones are paid and what ones are genuine and obviously being afraid of wasting your time and money. but this one is a genuine review and i’m making a review to ease anyone who has review anxiety like myself ahaha. but i never make reviews but this one is well needed! the quality is incredible and i cannot wait to pass these down to my son in the future. i’m absolutely in love w the fact that you can put pictures on every recipe, pictures are SO IMPORTANT. i bought film for my polaroid so i can just paste/glue them into the picture portion of the pages and also give that authentic and older aesthetic! i also love that the “family cookbook” cover can be reused and used to cover the book as it is a thick material. i was scared it was just gonna be paper but i was pleasantly surprised. 10/10 recommend this book and have golf everyone i know abt it. i definitely hold this every close to me. :)) <3

I've purchased several of these books as gifts for friends and family. I'm keeping a set to give to my children when they are finally out on their own and want to make all their favorite meals from childhood (or at least I hope that's what will happen). I like all the ways you can personalize the pages, including adding your own photos. This is the perfect gift for anybody that likes to cook and has fond memories of meals made by family members or friends or even great recipes picked up from online, etc.

This book was amazing . I don't use it for what it's described as , I'm easily using it as a scrapbook, putting a picture on one side and writing about it on the lined side . The autumn spring winter and summer can easily be whited out and the rest of the page is useful! Like year date and time , other things like that. The pages are a yellow hue , which I don't enjoy too much but other than that it's fantastic and I will probably order a second as a standard journal cus it's so thick and amazing
