I rotate my cats’ food every now and then. I generally look for products where the protein comes from a whole source (so no meal products). My preference is to feed them raw products but they’re on a break from that now. I landed back on Open Farms because they use good, whole ingredients. The food is a wet food, almost looks like blended slices, in terms of texture. A good addition to their diet to help them stay healthy and hydrated.

My cats won't touch it, so if you have a finicky cat this isnt the answer.

Clean ingredient list. Ethical product. What's not to like? Well the packaging for one. Its impossible to get all of the food out of these containers and I always end up getting some on me in the process. Also its really liquidy so you have to feed more of it than you normally would feed. I usually add a bit of water to their food to help their kidneys, and use it to rinse out the can at the same time. But this food is so liquidy, that if I add any more water, the cats won't eat it. It won't even be soup, it'll be broth at that point. And the cats really didn't care for it. They ate it the first couple of times it was served, but then started leaving food in their bowls. We rotate what proteins they get fed to help ensure they get a varied diet and a more interesting one. Being on scheduled meal times, this is a big deal for them to leave food. They can't just come back later and keep snacking. So they'd rather be a bit hungry and wait for something different at their next meal than finish this food.

Excellent cat food, one of the best

I bought this cat food because it is "certified humane" in terms of the way the chickens are treated. It is a very high quality cat food BUT my cat didn't like it. My advice: get a sample from the company first before dropping almost $50. I gave the case to my daughter's cat, who loves it. Sigh.

My cat loves this even more than his (healthy) canned food (Instinct Rabbit). Smells like baby food (so, like real food). Human grade - so might actually even sample it one of these days 😅

I dislike the fact that I opened one container. My cat will not go near this food. Before I ordered the product I inquired if I could return the unopened boxes if my cat would not eat it. Since I received a yes answer I ordered it. Got a no on returning the unopened containers. Very disappointed on throwing away money.

I rely on this cat food product as an alternative to store bought cat food for cat health reasons. Truly came as a surprise when both cats on two separate feedings, threw up each time. Cannot return the product based on the return policy. Hence raising awareness in the event that this was an anomaly. I also noticed what appeared to be a change to the ingredients as I thought I saw lentils within the cat food. Be it a change or a bad batch, you need to be aware my cats' experience.
