Game Salute Alien Frontiers: Upgrade Pack

The pieces in this upgrade pack are fantastic. The colonies look like the little bubbles you get toys in from coin machines, but they are probably one of the nicest pieces I've seen in a game before. The pieces add a lot to the flavor of the game, from the rockets for scoring to the awesome colony pieces. In my opinion this upgrade pack is a must have (though you don't actually need it to play the game).In total it comes with colony pieces for each of the five colors, score pieces for each of the five colors, a new piece for each of the different "fields" Positron, Isolation, and the Repulsor field generators are probably the least useful of the pieces, as you still need the cardboard counters to know what they do (unless you play enough to remember).There are also cardboard "chits" that replace dice for covering up spots for less than four player games which is nice, you won't ever confuse dice on the board with being in play.End of the day, it's a great upgrade with a decent price. It would have been nice if they had come in the original game, but for those that are more minimalist the game is a better price because of it. :)

I needed an extra color for a 5th player.

I backed the kickstarter project and did not get the upgraded colonies. Picked up this pack just to upgrade the 'chrome' of the game. Great little package and great little pieces.

Makes Alien Frontiers so much more attractive to look at when playing.
