the pan needs oil to work
It says it is a pan that doesn't stick, but you definitely need to spray it with oil first otherwise, the eggs stick to the pan.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
I bought this item in February 2024; this review is being submitted in October 2024.First, The Good.I find it makes an incredible poached egg. I usually poach one egg at a time and find 3 minutes and 5 seconds gives me an egg with the amount of runniness I prefer. Also, the screw that is used to hold the handle in place appears to be made of stainless steel. The Bad.The coating is not non-stick, as the seller claims. In the instructions, it is recommended that you coat the cup with butter before placing the egg. I find this works fine. But shame on the seller for claiming it is non-stick!The Ugly. This unit is rusting out excessively. I have included some pictures; please note the coating is starting to bubble on the bottom side of the cups. Also, note the rust forming around the perimeter of the unit along with the rust around the center screw hole. Also, rust starts forming inside each cup at the dimple formed as a stand-off.I use this item almost daily and am not happy that it is rusting so much. In the not-too-distant future, I anticipate it will be unusable because of the rust, not good.

Quality Egg Poacher Insert!
High quality, convenient egg poacher insert. It fits perfectly in my 8 1/2 inch stainless fry pan for my induction stove. Cover the bottom of the pan with about 1” water, butter each poacher cup, drop in eggs, place into fry pan, heat on low and voila (!) you will have beautifully poached eggs! So great not to buy ANOTHER stainless poacher pan. Just pop in this easy to use, clean and store insert! You will be so happy you did! Not a bit of sticking (butter or oil cup before cooking) and use metal utensils carefully…. Don’t want to scratch the excellent, enamel-like coating! The insert has a cool handle for placement and removal. I highly recommend this product!! Beautifully made!

Check for parts and oil the pan before each use
This is my second poach egg pan. It works well but remember to use a vegetable spray or some olive oil to coat the pan before you add eggs. I was hard on the first one and caused some of the teflon coating to be removed. When this one arrived, the lift knob on top was missing. Fortunately, I still had the first one and used the knob from it. Check for parts before you throw away the cover and box.

3 stars maybe
Perfect eggs easy to use ,no mess ,eggs slide right out. I don’t understand the negotiable reviews. Maybe people just can’t cook.Jumbo eggs fill the cups to the top!!I did use butter to grease the cupsIt’s been awhile now and a follow up reviewThe finish coating has began to wear away and the eggs now stick. Has only been gently washed. Screw holding handle is now rusted.Maybe spend A little more and find a better pan. Note the handle gets so hot you have to use a pot holder to use.
