Panama JackMen's Mesh Safari Hat

fits a bit lg but put a thin piece of cloth behind hat band and all good. Well made, keeps shape well. I live in Northern Ontario Canada so won't wear it outside till spring but think I will like it.

I am always worried about buying hats online. Are they going to fit, are they going to be shipped in good condition, etc. However, my older safari hat (this same make and model) was starting to disintegrate, so I decided it was time to buy a new one, and with shopping limited due to COVID, I decided to just buy one online anyways.The hat itself has a nice large brim that is made of a very light weight, breathable material, the best on the market. It covers the neck area well which is important if you are out in the sun a lot and my neck has not gotten sunburnt yet while wearing this hat. The mesh on the top is breathable, but I do feel like these hats let in a little too much sun, but I was going to get another one just because they are great hats all around.This hat is great (a 5 star product). It is breathable so that you don't get too sweaty, and looks nice. However, shipping made this hat unwearable.Unfortunately I had to return this hat. One of the great features of the hat is that it has a wire around the brim which help make it keep its shape and look nice. The hat was shipped in a plastic bag, folded in half. Because it was shipped this way, the metal wire was bent. You cannot easily reshape these once they are bent like that. It is one of their best features, and is was not shipped well and therefore ruined in transport.If I knew it would not be shipped like this, I would exchange it. However, because of the way it was shipped, it just needs to be returned.

Bought this hat because Panama Jack is a good brand. The hat itself is well made. However, the hat was stuffed into a small box, bending the wire that goes around the brim. Now this perfectly fine hat is wonky and who wants to wear that?! It looks like heck. I spent a half hour trying to smooth, twist, roll and shape the brim into something that's actually wearable, and it still is misshapen. The sad thing is that previous reviewers mentioned this problem, and yet the hat continues to be packaged with little regard to how useable it will be to the person who buys and wears it.

It fits fine on my 23 7/8 head but the brim is plasticky. It could use a wire former but it's obviously plastic and won't form well as a result. It is formed a bit weird with one side a bit higher (even after using a steam iron to straighten it out a bit) and is basically backward (narrower to the back). I would prefer the brim to be flatter like the stock image but it simply cannot be granted out even with heat, plus the brim gets more wrinkled as I try flattening it.I don't like cords on my hats so I took it off.

I first bought this hat in Large. It is too tight. So I bought it in X-Large. This one is too loose. Not sure what the cure is, but since they have a strap I'm trying to X-Large but always using the strap when there's even the slightest possibility that it will blow off. I'd even grow more hair but I am 73 and just keeping what I have is a losing battle. As for the hat itself, I think it is just what I want, although it is bent a bit oddly and I am trying to retrain it. :-)
