Very good
Enjoyed thisMafia type romance is not normally my thing but thought I’d give this a chance as I’d enjoyed some of the excerpts I came across.Chloe is on the run and is desperately fleeing killers on her tail. She comes across an advert for a teacher for a family paying cash and providing board. Deciding this is what she needs she applies and meets the dark and handsome Nikolai. The chemistry is off the charts and Chloe tries to stick to the job description. Nikolais sister makes some cryptic comments and warning me which has Chloe running…. Right into the hands of those looking to kill herThis was very different to what I’m used to reading and I did quite enjoy it. Nikolai is dark and dangerous but finds himself succumbing to innocent Chloe’s charm. The relationship seems odd but not odd.I love the relationship between Chloe and Nikolais son Slava. It’s so innocent and pure a stark contrast the dark world Nikolai lives in.Looking forward to reading the next one

Obsessed with this!!
In true Anna fashion, she completely sucked me into Chloe and Nikolai's story and certainly had me hoping that the book never ended!Chloe and Nikolai both have some big secrets, Chloe is running from whatever is pursuing her and Nikolai has moved his life to Idaho after finding out he has a son - to let him have a quiet life outside of what the family does...I loved reading about Chloe teaching Slava (Nikolai's son) and him coming out of his shell more. They have such sweet moments together, I can't wait to see their friendship grow in the next book.Nikolai and Chloe, their chemistry and attraction to each other is instantaneous and the tension between them leads to some extremely hot encounters. I'm so excited to see their relationship grow more in the next book - and hopefully some more extremely steamy sex🔥You get a bit of everything in this - drama, suspense, secrets, lies, super hot alpha male, intense sexual chemistry and of course, some super hot sex scenes. So, for me this ticked all the boxes for what I love and look for in a dark romance.Bring on book two!😍

not what I expected
I have read a few books from this author before although it was a science fiction/romance series that I loved but I was expecting that I could pick this book up and enjoy it just as much even without the science fiction element. It started well, there was a bit of action and mystery to get us into the story, which I enjoy because I do like my romance books to have a bit of adventure about them, unfortunately, it started to get a little slow after that. I think if I had had a better sense of the characters then the back and forth between them would have drawn me in I just felt like there wasn’t enough there yet for me to feel invested enough in the chemistry and it made a big portion of the book slow going.Luckily though there were a few things that kept me interested enough to keep reading, Alina I couldn’t decide her motivations and could tell early on that there was something more to her than was being shown to us, also the mystery of why people were after Chloe because she didn’t seem interesting enough for such attentions, and why Nikolai’s relationship with his son was so strained.I was glad I kept reading because toward the end of the book it started to read a lot more like the books I have enjoyed from this author, something clicked into place and I started to not want the book to end. I think maybe events in the story meant that the relationship forming between Chloe and Nikolai started to feel more realistic, until this point they had been too full on too quickly without the build-up of any actual chemistry so it was hard to feel it, but with the bumps in the road came the distance that was needed to make it a bit more believable.I have to say that even though this book was not quite as easy to get into as I thought it was going to be by the end I was so invested and was looking forward to getting my hands on the next book in the series.

Didn't Need a Second Instalment Could Be Told In One Book
This tale was interesting but I don't think it deserves another book. The story could have been told as one story without the cliffhanger and the extra expense of another more expensive book! Saying all of that Anna Zaires is an talented and experienced writer who knows how to get you involved in a story and so I will be purchasing Nikolai and Chloe's final instalment "Angel's Cage" to find out what happens in the end!!

A really good plot and great characters, mystery and a series of plot twists that really make or a great read. Running to read the second one and see how their story ends.

Girl on the run
You find your mother murdered and no one is listening and you find yourself on the run chased by unknown assailants who are hellbent on killing you. As a last resort desperate for finds you get a job teaching a Russian boy English. His father however is intense and powerful and you are drawn to him like a month to a flame.I love this author, her stories are always gripping and gritty, however I didn't like how quickly the romance started. I think after a few days considering the characters backstory she would be focused more on her job and keeping a low profile. Personally I would be insulted if my employer bought me clothes, you take me as I am, I'm there to educate not to play dress up as a doll. I don't understand the logic pricing behind designer clothes, you can get beautiful gowns at retail stores for a fraction of the price. Billionaires more money than sense. I digress. It's well written and the characters are interesting. I liked the story and am invested to see what happens next.Definitely worth a look.
