Bullhide Alanreed - Raffia Straw Cowboy Hat

I was really impressed with the quality of the hat. It's a retirement gift for a co-worker and I know he will be thrilled with it.

I don't know why but it's hard to find a low crown shapeable cowboy hat these days. It's also hard to find real straw. I took off one star because the costume band is glued in (so be careful when removing) and the hat has one of those elasto one-size-fits-all sweatbands. It should do better in the wind with this sort of sweatband, I just think they are kind of gross when they get sweaty. I much prefer leather or canvas. I'm also not a fan of the faux antique paint jobs they put on these things but beggars can't be choosers and this one is tasteful. Overall a very nice looking hat with tightly woven light weight straw which should be fairly resilient when sat on. I don't expect it to last forever but it should last a few Seasons at minimum.

Weave looser than shown in picture. The weave is not tight enough to block the sun, not as tight as shown in picture

The hat itself is nice, however the star on the band was broke off upon arrival. Then the band itself broke off the first time my husband wore it.

I've worn it at many gigs

Although this hat is very cute it is not well made and not worth the cost. The strap was broken when it arrived and the edges are a bit frayed. My advice? I'd pass on this hat and find another. So many cute ones to choose from that are better quality.
