So far it's a good tic tester.
I've only had this tic tester a short time but it's been performing well.I'm a home inspector and use these daily almost.The separate buttons for light and testing are good and hopefully reliable over time.I had been using Milwaukees but their end cap button was poorly designed and detached on two I had.The battery access is very easy to use as well.And lastly the device seems to be more sensitive than the Milwaukee as well. And that's a good thing!If it holds up over time I'll leave the 5 stars otherwise I'll amend my rating.

Its Crap!
I ordered 2, Thought , this is a great tool, I used one for 2 hours and it broke inside. What a piece of crap.It wasnt dropped, It just stopped working, I took the batteries out and something inside broke.. the batteries just rattle around with an inch of space. wtf. im returning both.. Amazon how do you sell this stuff without checking the quality???

works fine, the "gauge" doesn't do what i thought it would. 24volt reads the same as 120v.

Great addition to a home toolbox
This is on of the best investments for a home owner. It that socket live or not? Works as afvertised. I like this particular one because it works down to 20V.

Works well up close
Works well up close -- does not detect live wires through a wall though. With a switch plate off you can easily tell if any of the wires are live before doing work, but it wont help you decide where to drill a new hole.

A must have for DIYer
Very handy and useful for the DIY'er. I'm not an electrician, but I can change a light switch or outlet on my own. This helps me make sure I don't electrocute myself. Very easy to use and works well.
