mah jongg magic for windows

This product does not work with windows 8..don't buy it until it has been upgraded. I was unable to even get it to load.

I had another copy that would not show up as a full screen on this computer. I really like this version of Mah Jong the best and I have tried several versions.

I have been playing this for almost 20 years. I play it at least once a day. I wish it were available for the iPad.This is not like other Mah Jonggs. Russell Wilson did a stunning job designing game play that is part luck, part strategy. The player needs to think carefully about strategy. There are several sub--goals that need to be achieved to successfully win. The help system is excellent. It helps you get started and then gives you strategy advice after you understand the rules. Average playing time is about 10 minutes.The game art and design are beautiful. Again, Russell put a lot of work into crafting a very complete game experience. And if you win, you get an insightful proverb from The Master as your reward.The version I have only does 640 x 480 graphics. No problem. I am running it on Windows 10. It works on every version of Windows I've ever owned. You need to set some compatibility mode settings. Right-click on the .exe file, select Properties, and select the Compatibility tab. Set it to run in Windows XP compatibility and Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution. Also, every time I run it, I have to grant permission with a UAC dialog - small price to pay. Finally, once you have this installed, you can copy the folder and just run it without installing it, like say from a thumb drive.Russell made a smaller version of this for the iPhone, Mah Jongg Wall. But he lost interest and no longer supports it, so it is no longer available from the store. Unfortunately, this was before the latest versions of iOS. Now when you lose the game, you have to delete it and reinstall it from your iTune backup. Big pain. I have made many attempts to track Russell down and encourage him, but he seems to have disappeared.
