Hadn’t heard of Melt previously?
Not really an exercise regime to follow - more of a technical and knowledgeable read?

THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU!!!!
In 2015 I was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS)/Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS). I was placed on work restrictions. I was terrified I would no longer be able to continue in my current position (Audiologist) without any idea what Plan B might look like. Thus began my educational journey of learning how to use my body correctly and take better care of myself. I needed to find natural ways to manage my pain because my stomach could not tolerate pain medication. I was also having issues with sleep deprivation due to chronic pain. I was making progress with postural restoration therapy and hand therapy but continued to relapse into cycles of inflammation and pain until I discovered Susan Hitzmann’s first book and her highly interactive and easy to learn curriculum, the MELT METHOD. In 2017 I was able to resume working full time without restrictions (I cannot THANK YOU enough, SUE)!! I continue to use her fascia rebalancing and rehydrating strategies to preserve myself and promote pain-free living. While the fascial rehydration provides an excellent foundation, I continue to protect myself and modify my activities to avoid reinjuring. In short, I miss my old life of shooting hoops, running, engaging in pick up soccer with the kids, etc. I had resigned myself to the notion that avoiding surgery was good enough and that my current life is the best it will probably be….UNTIL, Sue’s current release MELT PERFORMANCE!! This book provides the knowledge and backdrop for me to improve joint stability and control. This “secret sauce” which will promote resilience and longevity throughout my life, reducing risk of injury, improving recovery times, restoring mobility. I am 55 years old and I desperately want to stay active and feel good! Sue does an amazing job of dumbing down complex concepts such as “neurological stability”, “homeostasis”, “structural strength”, “postural reflexes”. Sue Hitzmann is correct in her theory and delivery, and the reason I believe this is because her model works. IT WORKS! I finally understand, after all these years of PT/OT/Chiro the importance of hip/shoulder alignment and how to get there. Thank God she took the time and attention to detail to explain this in lay person’s terms! This Book was an epiphany for me. I now have a clearer understanding of why I’m doing what I’m doing and how to be more effective at supporting myself. Thanks for saving me buckets of money and medical visits, and for creating a curriculum I can do at home when I have time! This book is for everyone, any age, who wants to be active. WOW!!!!

Solution to my back pain.
Sue's latest book includes some of the basics as well as more advanced neurostrength techniques. I have been practising MELT for almost six years and have taken trainings with Sue and the Master Trainers. Sue motivates us with her humour, intelligence and energy and makes the study fascinating. Connective tissue is the largest system in the body and touches all the other systems. Her goal in creating this method is to enable everyone to improve their health. By assessing your body, practising the movements and re-assessing, you immediately notice the changes. Even though I was exercising the disks of my spine were being compressed. This resulted in sciatica and back pain. Being able to re-set your own low back is very empowering. Maintaining the health of our spine, and therefore the nervous system, is an important part of staying active as we age and just one benefit of MELT. The Performance book shows even more advanced techniques to strengthen, create fluid exchange and release that fluid to joint spaces. Neurostrength allows deeper and longer lasting changes. I appreciate Sue's simplification of these complex concepts as we learn more about the science.

A must-read for personal trainers, Pilates instructors and sports enthusiasts!
This book really is the key to optimal, pain-free movement performance. Previously available only for manual therapists and advanced level MELT instructors, this book offers an easy-to-follow, step-by-step guide on how to strengthen and maintain joint stability. This is a must-read for any personal trainer, Pilates or yoga instructor or sports coach who wants to help their clients reach and exceed their fitness and/or sports-specific goals. I’ve seen clients reduce pain medications, stop manual therapy, avoid joint replacement surgeries, and complete personal fitness challenges that previously seemed impossible. A professional ice hockey client told me that, compared with other training approaches, MELT Performance techniques have made a noticeable difference in his power and stamina. For those of us who crave the “what, why and how” of each technique, you will not be disappointed. Sue Hitzmann has done a masterful job explaining the science and making complex models of neurological stability understandable. Read this book and you will have more than a handful of “ah-ha” moments!

Melt Performance for resilience
I’m excited to share this amazing book of how to reframe our bodies so that we can reach our highest potential, no matter what our age or activity level. As a nursing student in 1976, I was told that connective tissue and fascia was inert and that It provided support and protection but didn’t warrant direct study.Over forty years later, I am grateful to have Sue Hitzmann guiding my study of this vibrant and vital body tissue. I chose to study the Melt Method as a nice adjunct to my foot health education practice, thinking it would be helpful to teach my clients a simple way to do foot massage on themselves, as a way to heighten their awareness of their incredible feet. What I discovered instead was a robust and well researched system of self-care of the entire body- even addressing the body-mind axis in a tidy method that is both easy and accessible to people. As a public health nurse, I value self-care and know that most folks are resilient way beyond what our traditional western medical system allows. When I discovered Melt, it addressed the pain and stiffness that I felt, especially in the early part of my day before I had moved much. But it has done so much more for me: it has given me confidence, strength and resilience in any movements I do. My Melt practice has taught me about how easily my body recruits muscles to perform and activities that do not need to be involved with it- “volunteers” as I think of them. These areas of the body then hold stress for me, when they could be relaxed. I’ve learned about how frozen my upper torso has been much of life, not allowing me to breathe fully in that area- “frozen” and stiff. And I’ve begun to understand- and manage my pelvic instability, seeing improvement every week, particularly as I practice the new Melt for Performance program. But the most exciting aspect of my Melt practice is what Sue Hitzmann calls “a system where vibration comes through us outside of our common senses”. This assists with emotional well-being and resilience.I am so happy to part of the Melt training team as Sue Hitzmann shows us how easy it is to vastly improve our functioning through this simple and gentle self-care program. Her new book, Melt Performance gives us a way to take the amazing Melt Method to a new level. It is a new paradigm in self-care!
