Absolutely worth the money!
I have a Toyota Highlander and am pulling a very small U-Haul trailer. Ordered the wiring kit online, hooked it up, went down to U-Haul and they didn’t have one of these testers so they had me back up to a trailer, plug in and the lights didn’t come on. He said for me to rent a trailer the lights had to work. Figured I must of hooked something up wrong. Instead of driving back down to the U-Haul place every time I needed to test if my wiring was correct I just ordered this tool and it worked flawlessly! For $4 bucks it was definitely worth it! Now I just have it in my glove box and anytime I’m hooking up a trailer I can test my lights easily to know if my lights aren’t working or if the trailer lights aren’t working.

easy to check trailer wiring on my car
can't check electrical stuff to save my life. fortunately this was easy! car came from factory pre-wired for a hitch. curt wiring harness plugged right in to factory outlet. plugged this tester into the 4-prong end of harness and it lit up when lights were turned on, turn signals went left /right. money well spent for piece of mind. couldn't check the brakes because it was just me. so will check it when i have a helper.

Idiot proof and well made. It is a simple device that works.
I just added trailer wiring to my Jeep and wanted an easy way to verify it was wired right since I did not have a trailer yet. I bought this tester and as shown in the video and photos it works. I keep it in the glove compartment and expect it to be useful if I rent or go shopping for a vehicle that I want to check the trailer hitch wiring on it.

but are the type who like to know if things are working properly
I own several of these for testing the towing vehicle electrical system. This is only for the towing vehicle. Plug this into to the tow vehicle and check you brakes, directionals, and running lights electrical supply circuits. The LED lights will show if eveything is working or not. Even if you are not a automotive professional, but are the type who like to know if things are working properly, this little device will help test tow vehicle electrical circuits and you can do the tests solo, very quickly.

Great but easy to losel
This tester works great. I keep in the glove box in my car. Recently I had my car in the shop so I took it out of the glove box with some other stuff I didn't want to go missing. Later I couldn't find it. It had fallen on the carpet between the console and the passenger seat which here all black. I drilled a small hole in it and put a small piece of neon green cord through it. Now it is easy to spot. Hope this idea will help someone avoid losing one. .

Nice little tool.
Works as expected. I set my phone up to video record the lights. Then, I hope in my truck and run through all the lights (turn signals, running, brakes, etc.). Watch the video to see which one isn't working, and then troubleshoot from there if needed. A voltmeter works for that too, this is just easier. A good idea to bring with you when buying an older used truck for towing. So when the dealership sales person says the trailer lights work, you can prove them wrong on the spot. Wished I had it with me on the lot. Would have saved me some hassle at home.

Buy this thing for sure
If you're installing a wiring harness, this is a must-have for simple and quick testing that everything is wired correctly. Just got through doing this, and it worked great. Hint: start taking a video with your phone of the thing, so you can press the brakes, etc, and then review the video to see which lights did what. Unless you have someone around to watch.

A simple but effective tool. Built solidly. Connects to 4 pin trailer light block. LED lights are bright and easy to see. Aids in trouble shooting trailer lighting problems. Best few bucks you will spend to save lots of frustration wiring and fixing trailer lights.
