Truly Outstanding!
Daniel Brett’s remarkable and comprehensive book on iboga is extremely well written, unusually insightful, impeccably researched, intensely intriguing, and packed with resources. Brett did an extraordinary job covering all aspects of this plant’s potential benefits, possible dangers, and limitations— from it’s history, pharmacology, physical and psychological effects, as well as its philosophical implications, to practical advice on finding a reputable provider, what to expect, and how to sustain one’s path to recovery— making it essential reading for anyone interested in using this revered African plant for the treatment of drug addiction, psychedelic psychotherapy, inner exploration, or psycho-spiritual healing. Brett’s beautiful writing style makes this book easily readable and accessible, despite the advanced material it covers. Quoting from many psychedelic drug experts, researchers and luminaries, and shining light from his profound personal knowledge and own hard-earned experience, Brett weaves together a radical and masterful adventure guide that seems on the verge of revealing the hidden secrets of the universe. Exploring such mind-boggling experiences common to the iboga journey as ancestor contact, time travel, near-death experiences, entity communications, its relationship to dreams and archetypes, the surfacing of long-forgotten memories, visions of cosmic and biological evolution, and its guiding psychotherapeutic inner intelligence and wisdom— with great clarity and insight— makes reading this book a transformative experience unto itself, going far beyond the reach of most other books on psychedelics. The best book on the subject; most highly recommended!

What a great book, what a great plant ❤️
I am so very glad this book found its way to me. Within the first chapter I knew I was going to seek out a place that I could experience this master healer for myself.Daniel Brett has a beautifully engaging writing style and this book is a pleasure to read. His research covers a vast array of facts, as well as doing a suitably poetic job of discribing the indescribable experience of what it's like to take Iboga. There was a heavy focus on its' application for healing addiction, which wasn't my need, but still it's interesting to understand the full scope of this wonderful plant. It also highlights the social, cultural and environmental impacts of popularization of Iboga use. After experiencing Iboga myself, I feel a strong desire to support the sustainability of the plant's wider use, I'm humbled by its power and so very grateful that it is bringing the healing of Mother Africa to the western world that has so clearly lost its way. Now, more than ever, there is such a profound need to witness and heal the trauma of living in modern society. I'm so grateful that I read this book and that iboga will be a part of my healing and the healing of the world into the future.

Finally - real Information on one of the most powerful healing methods in the world
In a world awash in mental, emotional and physical problems plant medicine is becoming remarkably mainstream, just watch the episode on 60 minutes about the power of these substances to heal PTSD, addiction, depression. Yet very few people are talking about Iboga, the king of plants with an unrivaled effectiveness for addiction. Mr. Brett has written a truly powerful, complete and well studied book that the world drastically needs. Years of therapy, pain killers and opioids is not going to solve our most pressing trauma. And as wisely stated by Gabor Mate, we all suffer some degree of trauma. This brilliant book outlines all the background anyone would need to consider this treatment for themselves or someone they know. Most importantly it finally elucidates the difference between its more well known chemical derivative Ibogaine from the actual Iboga plant itself. There is not only the strong potential to heal addiction and depression but to open a person to a fuller appreciation of what it means to be a healthy human being.A must read for those on a path to healing, happiness and betterment.

The most thorough book on the subject of iboga
If there is one book to read on iboga, this is the one. As I have delved into the world of iboga on my psychedelics journey, I found a lack of well-researched books that are also engaging. So, this one stands out. The author spent 7 years researching, spend significant time in Gabon, attending 20+ ceremonies, met with researchers, and managed to write a very readable, interesting, and engaging book. It covers the origins, ceremony, modern uses, sustainability issues, and future possibilities for the plant. Unlike other books it goes well beyond iboga as a heroin cure, and delves into its uses curing other maladies, including emotional and spiritual ones. The end notes are filled with hundreds of citations, which is its own wonderland of future research.

Amazing herb
I heard about this when I was watching a nature series on the discovery channel about elephants. Seems some elephants will swim miles to get to this island that has this herb. When they chew it, it gives them a good feeling and heals their bodies like an antibiotic. Well this herb is also not accessible to many people and is considered possibly an mind altering drug. I other words, prescribed in another form. I thought it is a very interesting possibility that this basic herb in its original form, may be growing in someone’s backyard.
