Why did you pick this product vs others?:Works well for the attic exhaust fan

Please ignore the review that I uploaded a few minutes ago. It was for a different product. This product, the outlet timer, is exactly what we needed for the small 120 volt water heater in our laundry. We turn that on when we need to have a hot wash but we forgot to turn it off when the wash is done. This timer prevents that from happening we set it for 20 minutes, the water gets hot we run the wash and it shuts itself off. Perfect. Works well

I gave it four stars because it is probably perfect for lights but no good for fans. Trust me.

Easy to install and has been very effective in reducing lighting costs.

Installed easily and works as expected. This is the third wall timer for this exhaust fan in the past 5 years, all different brands. Some of the reviews here also report a short life for this timer also so we will see how it goes.

This thing is just what I wanted! It controls the fan in my bathroom. I just tested the 5-minute timer as I just installed it but it works great!! The 5 mins was right on!!The one thing I found off was it was a slightly brighter white than the white switch plate I bought so it does not quite match. I am not sure if the switch plate color is off or the color on the timer. It did not quite match the old white switch color I removed..Not a huge deal but makes my ODC go a tad crazy.All in all so far so good.

As I write this review, I have had this switch installed in my bathroom for just over 3 years. It has hung at least 20 times in its life, and is now dead.* Hang condition: I would press a button, "10 Min" in this example. The light above "10 Min" would illuminate, and the ceiling fan would start. Hours later I would find the fan still running, and no button press (including "On/Off") would do anything. The only way to stop the fan was to turn off the breaker to the circuit. On "reboot" the switch would operate normally for weeks to months.* Dead condition: No button press does anything. No lights, no fan. Even a power cycle does not wake it up.It is shame this was so unreliable because I liked this timer switch. But 3 years of semi-reliable service is not quite good enough. I will replace it with a home-automated switch (and use my voice to ask Siri to turn it off for me after however many minutes I want).
