Super easy to use, really secure, excellent price
I bought a set of these to secure the end of my kayaks to my truck bed extender instead of using bungee cords. These worked perfect. the bungee cords just secured the end of the kayaks to the extender to keep from bouncing, these did a much better job and the kayaks didn't budge at all.I bought the 9 ft thinking that would be long enough to strap my two kayaks to the extender but it just made it, however I could have used the second one to created an extended length if I needed to which makes this set really useful.Initially I decided to give the straps a test so I used a ratchet strap for securing the main part of the kayaks to my truck and these just for the end to the bed extender. I wanted to see if they would slip at any point so I didn't tie the excess and just relied on the clip. After an 80 mile trip (40 miles to and 40 return) they didn't budge at all. The freeway is really bumpy and the road to the river is very bumpy as well, so they did get a workout but there was no slipping at all so they passed the test. Now, since I am transporting pretty expensive kayaks, I would certainly tie the excess so that if it did slip the tied off part would hold eveything in place and not slip through the buckle, but I do that with any type of strap I use including the ratched straps I have. The buckle clips held tight and didn't budge at all.I liked these so much that I bought the longer version and am going to give those a try next time I take my kayaks out because ratchet straps are not the best for kayaks. On another note, the clips have a silicone enclosure which prevents them from scratching the finish of the bed extender or truck paint. These would make a good addition to a car top carrier because the enclosure probably wouldn't damage the paint if secured properly. Certainly soimething I looked for when researching tie down straps.

These work great for securing my kayak
I use these to secure my kayak to the roof of my car. Nice size, easy to use, petty durable, not too thick, all in all, they work well.

They’re strong. Really strong.
Two of these held an aluminum toolbox filled with about 150lb of tools strapped to the roof rack of my Chevy Suburban full time across the country, off-road and at high speeds on the highway with all that wind resistance. There were many times I thought they’d break for sure or dry rot like other straps would have, but I just took them off after 9 months of strenuous work and they are unscathed and ready for more work. They’re still dark and haven’t faded one bit. I’m very impressed by the performance of these. I’d recommend them to anyone looking for this style strap, they are an excellent value.

Excellent primary tie down for kayak
These tie-downs are excellent. The buckle is easy to thread and the rubber backing provides a non-abrasive shield between the buckle and whatever you're securing. I use these as primary tie-downs for a kayak in a pickup truck and they are perfect. The cinch up very snugly and do not slip open or loosen up even at highway speeds and over distance. They also have a Velcro wrap for securing the excess webbing so there are no loose strap ends flapping around when you're driving. I would give these 6 stars. Excellent product and reasonable pricing too.
