my daughter was super pleased with this set... I was disappointed at the small amount of clay included... but otherwise loved it

The first set I got was at Michaels on clearance. When we opened it it had clearly been returned and the clay was all dried out so i decided to try Amazon. I got a couple of them for my daughters birthday and now wish I had read the reviews first. The clay is not moldable, the popper doesn’t even pop the clay out, noting would stick to each other and adding water didn’t help at all!!! This is a huge waste of your money! I am going to be returning all three sets I just bought! Luckily we opened one before her birthday and found this out before she got all three sets and was super upset!

My 7 year old daughter saw the Poppits commercial on Cartoon Network and begged me to purchase it for Christmas. She absolutely loved making the mini baked goods. It was very easy to make however it was slightly difficult getting the clay foam out of the packages. The clay dries quickly overnight and are very lightweight and look like delicious gourmet treats complete with a store display case and a two tiered pastry stand. The set also comes with glitter glue and mini toppings. It was also fun to pop out the pieces with the pop mold. I enjoyed playing with her and watching her unlock her creativity.

I'm a little angry at this set, but have to admit it has its redeeming features too. Ultimately we decided to keep it because my daughter liked it, but I wanted to return it because it does not do what it advertises... the popping. The popper tool is absolutely useless. It does not pop out anything - no matter how you squeeze it, the clay just sits in the mold like, well, a lump of clay. Maybe our popper is defective. Basically, it uses an air pump system to spring up a little plunger to push the clay from the mold... but it is way too weak and doesn't pop anything. At best it leaves a little indent from the plunger on the bottom of your creation. Lame!The other big con is the clay/foam itself. It dries extremely quickly and becomes lumpy and impossible to smooth. Those cute, perfect little pieces on the box? Almost definitely not happening. You can smooth and rework the clay a bit with water, but it's still going to be lumpy.Now the redeeming qualities!The accessories and molds themselves are really pretty neat. It comes with sprinkles, little plastic fruits that you can push into your pieces, a water drop tool to help adhere decorations, and glitter gel in another squeeze tube that looks like jelly glaze. It also comes with a cake stand, display case, and storage containers - all which are very nice quality. The molds can absolutely be used with regular soft clay or play-doh (especially since the popper is worthless and can't be used anyway, so weight doesn't really matter).These aspects of the toy were nice enough that I could stomach keeping it.I mostly upsets me that that entire gimmick of the toy - it's very namesake - doesn't work. Still, lots of fun for the accessories alone.

The poppit thing doesn't really work (sometimes it pops and sometimes it doesn't ever pop) and the clay gets dry super fast...but, We got out the play dough and made some really fun stuff-keeps my kids busy for a long time! (Which is why I give 4 instead of 2 stars) Displays are cute and molds work well!

I had read the reviews online and knew the clay had to be transferred to their canisters IMMEDIATELY after opening, so I was there when my daughter opened the packets to ensure it was done correctly. BUT the clay had already dried in the sealed packets. We added water to it and only made a mess. UGGH! This was her one present from Santa, the one thing that she wanted. Hoping I can find some other clay that will work with the kit. DO NOT RISK BUYING THIS PRODUCT!

My daughter and I have had fun with this. It's perfect for making doll food. I was really hesitant to buy it after reading the reviews.. but we haven't had any issues. It works fine. We bought extra clay to go with it. It was worth the price for us and we keep having fun with it!
