Update your train in the app first!
At first this did nothing and my son just played with it anyway. I just now (a year later) realized it’s supposed to actually wash and maintain your train on the respective sides. If you open up the Brio app there’s an icon in the top right for parents only. Go in there and select “update engine”. Turn on your train so they can connect and it will upload all the new sounds and features to your train. The headlights turn blue and flash for a bit while it loads. Then it’ll go “woohoo” and give you an all done screen and you’re good to go! My four year old is THRILLED that he has new sounds and can watch his train drive it and get serviced. He still prefers to just drive a plain train in there and have his little brio people do the work but I can say 100% it works as it should if you update your train. Also if you have red headlights that means your battery is low and it may not go through all the motions it’s supposed to.

Won't work without expensive train
Does not clearly tell you that in order for it to work you must buy the expensive Smart train to go with it. Dissapointed.

Nice but you need a special proprietary,train for the sound to work
The sound could’ve just worked when any locomotive passes under the sensor but instead you need to buy a $50 locomotive for it to work. It’s pretty ridiculous.

Brio never fails
My son thought it was great. I missed it used special engines, so we ordered one of those and are waiting on it now.

Fun addition to a train set!
We bought this for our 4 year old nephew who loves trains. It is well made and easy to use for small hands. Good value for the price. Brio and other brand trains fit and function.

Dieser Brio Artikel ist super witzig und macht coole Geräusche. Der Zug kann links in die Waschanlage, rechts in die Reparaturwerkstatt oder mittig durch fahren. Dies wird mit der Hand umgeschalten anhand des kleinen, orangenen Knopfes vorne. Damit das ganze Funktioniert, wird eine spezielle Lok benötigt und zwar die Smart Tech Lokomotive. Wie immer bei Brio ist die Qualität super und alles sehr stabil. Das beste daran ist, dass man in der dazugehörigen App die Geräusche verändern kann. Es gibt hierfür voreingestellte Töne oder man bespricht die Dinge neu. Das macht einen riesen Spaß.
