I live in the Cleveland, Ohio area and we have city water from Lake Erie. We were having a lot of issues with odor in the water. High chlorine and musty smell. No matter how much or what kind of soap or softener you used the laundry always smelled bad even if you took the laundry out immediately after wash. Thought it was the washer.In my case I installed this as a single stage filter in a whole house system. So far I have run 18900 gallons through it with no issues. Any smell that was in the water was eliminated, odor in laundry eliminated, taste improved, water stains in the bathtub eliminated. Not saying the water is perfectly clean but it is significantly better. In my opinion the filter works as advertised at least on Lake Erie water. I am estimating 3 to 4 months based on our water quality and usage. I will be using these filters again.

I have spent three years, evaluating different filters, types, and companies. I’m finished. For a whole house filter… The best I’ve found.. I started building houses in 1973. Been retired for some time. But still learning.

We have been using these for 6 months. So far 3 of these filters have failed.We have a triple filter with the first inline filter being 20 microns and the following two being these 5 micron charcoal filters.Installed these in January 2024 and immediately lost 1 because the paper core popped out and clogged the filter head on the middle filter. Replaced with a new one and tried again. In July it was filter swap time and they were all changed. After changing we noticed the water pressure was terrible. Dropped the carbon filters and found the middle filter core was sticking out the top of the fitter (photo of black filter material sticking out the top of a filter) and to our surprise we could not find the last filter’s core. After deliberating on what to do for a few hours, and talking my wife off the ledge of needing to call a plumber and drop $500-$1000 on emergency services, I ran to the hardware store and bought some fittings to hookup the hose to the upstairs shower head. Initiated backflush and luckily the filter core popped out of the house supply line (shown in the photo where it is laying on the filters).This could have been a massive headache and a huge plumbers bill. I feel very lucky the backflush worked.I tried to email and submit forms to the company for weeks with no response. Hence the bad review.Bottom line: we lost 3 of the 6 we bought due to a bad design or manufacture process. Unless you have a screen on your water line downstream of this filter, do not buy them. They have proven to shed the core liner which can clog your entire water intake line!
