Exactly what I needed.
I got frustrated with coin tubes supplied by the US Mint. A knife or other thin object must be used to remove their tops. These items that I purchased from Amazon are just as air tight and secure as the US Mint tubes but their tops can be removed easily. I am totally pleased with them and in fact bought a 2nd batch.

You can modify the lids.
So I wasn't expecting a whole lot from these as they're the bargain tubes but I was a little disappointed when you could only fit 18 1oz. coins inside instead of 20. I was putting in copper coins, not silver. 19 coins comes close to closing all the way but not quite and definitely not 20. The lids have a ring that prevents the lids from closing all the way. The solution is pretty simple. Just take some needle nose pliers and grab a part of the plastic circle underneath the lid with pliers perpendicular to the lid and twist. It will break off cleanly and then 20 will fit no problem. Very odd lid design. You will still have room for padding at the top and it's still sturdy. It breaks cleanly enough off that it passes my ocd test. Yes I know my hands are as dry as the Sahara.
