Excellent, I use this a few times a week professionally. Its fast and reliable, well-built.

This Tramex was super accurate and it’s moisture readings. This is save me a fortune in marine surveyorsd by being able to eliminate older boats with wet fiberglass cores before a survey! Cannot recommend enough. Also has a nifty pairing with your phone for those awkward areas where you can’t see the readings.

Bought the Tremax Skipper 5 a few days ago. Used it on one boat and it worked great. I was working with a broker who has experience with this product and my new moisture meter matched his perfectly. I read all available material matter and watched videos and worked with an actual surveyor to learn the meter which came highly recommended. After I used the meter on the first boat the meter would not turn on so I replaced the batteries and the needle was jumping all over the place and the alarm was going off. I shut the meter off removed the batteries and repeated the process. I put in a different set of new batteries and the same thing happened. Needle jumping all over the place and the alarm going off and the sensors were exposed to open air and not even attempting to take a reading on the second boat. UPDATE: Sorry for the delayed update. I did get a full refund and the manufacturer did reach out to me directly. They did confirm that this is although uncommon is a known issue with some of their units and are working on the units to fix any issues. They were extremely helpful and even gave me a discount to buy another one. Based on further research I chose to go a different route. The customer service was exceptional and response was timely and professional I changed my rating from a 1 Star to a 3 Star based on the customer service aspect. As a yacht broker I do know a lot of surveyors that have them and use them and they work quite well for them. I highly recommend if you do buy one to go through the Tramex Directly.

Got item, would not turn on, replaced battery's (2 AA), seemed to work OK. Week later AGAIN would not turn on, battery dead. Seems to me the meter is not shutting off internally and drains the battery. This item is electronic so Amazon will not support a return. Buy at own risk.
