Awesome bell
I was looking for a bell to go with our new Ebikes. Top of my list is the Spurcycle and honestly if money was no object, it would be my first choice but I just can't justify spending $70 on a bike bell. I took a look at some discount bells and a knock-off... none of them measured up. I still sort of want a Spurcycle but this is an excellent compromise at half the price. I purchased the copper bell for myself and my wife picked the flat black bell. They both sound very nice but the copper bell has a bit higher pitch and sounds clearer to my ear. Both mount the same way - a metal strap and a small hex screw. If you don't have a hex wrench, that's an issue. I think they should have included one. But if you do have a standard bike wrench set, it's an easy mount. It looks fantastic and sounds great. .

Found my perfect bike bell
LOVE this little bell! Beautiful, clear, loud for its size, easy to install on my Cannondale Quick hybrid. Fits the larger section of my handlebars. Yes, you have to "flick with commitment!" to get a good ring. A wimpy flick results in a little "tonk", not a quieter ring. KInd of like "Oh, please, you can do better." Some criticism that Crane knocked off Spurcycle with this design so in fairness check those out, too. I also tried a Knog Oi bell in black (great design, nice tone, not very loud) but this bell was much louder with a clearer, more pleasing tone. This black bell sounds a bit different than the brass and copper versions (they have a sharper, more irritating tone to me) so find a video that lets you hear the difference to see which you prefer.

Can you hear me now?
This bell is as beautiful as it is loud. I purchased this bell to combat the droves of tweens, playing Pokemon Go, in the park. All of a sudden, my favorite bike path is littered with mindless idiots, face down, on their phones. When buying a bike bell, you basically have three options; silly child's "ring ring", this lovely and resonant "Diiiing", or big trucker airhorn. At first I was skeptical about the other reviews, praising this bell for its beautiful musical resonance, but it's absolutely true. It's loud without being harsh, and distinctive enough that it gets attention from all but the most hopeless of humans. The size is also perfect for handlebar mounting, and allows you to position the bell close enough to your grips so your thumb will always be "on-the-ready".Sure, $30 is a lot to spend on a bike bell, but I can assure you, it's worth it. The copper finish is gorgeous, and the spring on the dinger (technical term) is strong enough that the bell will not ding unless summoned upon. If you care about quality, looks, and want a bell with a clear and authoritative tone, buy the Crane E-ne.

Better than the other Spurcycle knockoffs
This seems like a pretty good alternative to the Spurcycle bell, which I really wanted to support, but couldn't quite justify paying twice as much for. Prior to that, I was originally drawn to the Knog Oi based on its unique looks, but there were too many reports of it just not being quite loud enough, which was kind of a dealbreaker. This bell, while also being compact and attractive, does a good job at its main purpose: being loud enough to get people's attention so you don't have to make yourself hoarse yelling "On your left!" all day.Cons:* Kind of a knockoff of a higher quality US product* Not artisinally crafted in San Francisco* Difficult to ring softly (usually not much of a problem)Pros:* As far as Spurcycle knockoffs go, this is higher quality and less of a blatant knockoff than the other comparable bells out there* Not $50-$60* Manufacturer is more well-known and reputable than the Chinese knockoff brands* Compact, stylish looks* Loud, crisp ring that's quite effective at getting people's attentionOverall I'm pretty happy with it. I did notice one minor quirk that other reviewers mentioned, that it takes a bit of practice to figure out how far back to pull the hammer. A graph of hammer distance vs. noise would look roughly like this:-------------====##################That's probably inaccurate, but the idea is that pulling it back slightly results in an almost-inaudible "thud." (which, as another reviewer mentioned, you might end up doing in a panic), and pulling it back more than maybe 40% results in the loud, bright "DING!" you would expect. Sometimes, if it's quiet out, you might attempt to ring it a bit softer so you don't terrify an upcoming pedestrian, but it's pretty tricky to hit that narrow sweet spot of audible but not piercing. I don't consider this much of a problem, though, since most of the time you just want to be heard, and it does a good job of that.

Nice clear ring, made in JAPAN
A nice simple bell with a fantastic clear ring. Made in Japan, not china. Feels like money but doesn't break the bank. Clean black color, relatively easy to install. The cheap chinese bells suck. Don't use them, just get this and it should last your life. The nature of how materials work tells me the black probably won't stay dark for eternity, but it's held up on a beater bike for well over a year, so I can't imagine any problems occurring if someone is buying this for looks on a ride they keep pristine.

Sturdy, reliable, loudness range for soft to loud
The bell has a great tone and depending on how hard you choose to depress the striker lever you can vary from fairly soft to loud enough to easily be heard quite far ahead of you.The workmanship is excellent and the unit is a treat to own.

Timbre de excelente calidad
El sonido de este timbre es genial, aunque no es muy fuerte, es generalmente para alertar personas, si viajas mucho por vialidades sin ciclovia te recomiendo otro con un sonido más fuerte.

Crane Bike Bell E-Ne Bicycle Bell
Easy to install. Good quality product and once you figured out how to strike it, it’s easy to use it too. Loud and clear sound to alert the shared path users, even with their headphones on. Just wish it was made smaller size.
