Quality retro fan
Fan is metal with more of a brushed gunmetal look than bronze. The lowest setting is faster maybe than needed. I probably will never use the highest setting or maybe not even the mid setting very much as the low setting is pretty fast. I would have preferred a slower low setting so the fan could be placed close and personal. The low setting is actually sufficient to move a room of air so not something you would sit a couple of feet away from you, but I suppose that isn’t it’s use case anyway. It is a table top fan not a personal fan. If anyone is interested, the power consumption in watts from lo/med/hi is 30/36/43. Whether it is oscillating or not does not appreciably affect consumption, just a couple tenths of a watt. Noise seems about average. The fan has 5 blades so it does move air well and the blades are metal so I am hoping they will not flatten out over time from centrifugal force and no longer move air, if anyone has ever experienced that with a plastic blade fan which does happen to them. It looks good and functions as expected, so you be the judge if it is worth the premium price. I say it is as having something in your home/office that is an eyesore or just utilitarian ugly gets old quick and you will wish you had popped for the nicer looking one, plus it is metal and has 5 blades rather than the normal 4 or many even with only 3. That was a selling point for me. Recommended.

So quiet! A quiet stream of cool air when we sleep!
I have to have a fan when I sleep. It's been that way forever. My 16-in plastic Lasko fan of many years was making a whole lot of noise. Holy cow! The cost of a good reliable fan is insane these days. If I was going to have to drop 50 bucks or more I was going to get myself something that was going to last. This particular metal fan is pretty expensive bud Lasko is a very reliable product line as far as I am concerned. I found this particular unit on Amazon's good used items list for about 50 bucks. I've purchased reduced priced items before with great luck and of course Amazon guarantees and backs everything they sell without argument so I took the chance and I have not regretted it. This unit is very simple, no remote no digital just a fan. Three speeds knob on top. Very well made and for me the most important thing is I can clean this thing and put it back together. I can't stand gunk on my fan. THE FAN IS VERY QUIET VERY FUNCTIONAL. ON HIGH SPEED NUMBER THREE, YOU'RE GOING TO GET A LITTLE LIGHT HELICOPTER SOUND BUT THE AIR FLOW IS FANTASTIC. THE OSCILLATING FACTOR OF THE FAN IS ALSO WIDE and appreciated. I highly recommend this unit. It also looks really good, the dark metallic finish is very nice.

LOVE THIS FAN! USED IT FOR OVER 5 YEAR NO ISSUES
This fan is absolutely fantastic. For over five years, I used it as white noise while sleeping every night, running the fan on the highest setting for over six hours each night and over 10,000 hours in the five years, and I never had an issue. I never cleaned the fan or did any maintenance; I just turned it on using a smart switch and slept. The fan always had the same airflow, and the sound was always consistent and at a perfect volume for me. The only thing that took down the amazing hunk of mental was my puppy, who chewed through the cord. I was so disappointed, and now, over a year later, I never replaced it because it wouldn't have been the same. I loved this fan and believe it could have gone another five years or more. Maybe I'll get it again one day, but for now, I just use a fan phone app, but it will never be the same as this tremendous fan. I highly recommend it to any fan sleepers and anyone wanting a stylish, long-lasting, durable fan that you know will work for years to come.

I Wanted To Like This Fan
Two things I didn't like about this fan was: 1. Too noisy for me on the first speed; 2. The dial to change speeds was not in a convenient place. Other than this, I thought the fan was good looking, very sturdy, well built and the right size. I needed a fan to keep on my kitchen countertop (2-tier countertop) but when I put this on the higher level of my counter, I had to walk around the length of my counter to turn the fan on/off because the dial was on the outer side of the fan. If I had thought of this before purchasing the fan I would not have bought it; anyway, I ended up returning it and bought a different fan with the speed dial located on the base of the fan (easier access for me and where my fan would be located) and it was quieter on the lowest speed. The noise level on the lowest speed of this Lasko seemed a little whiny or whirring sounding to me.

Great fan!
Well made, handsome styling, quiet, works great, packs a pretty good punch on low and plenty of air on medium and high..fits perfectly where we wanted it under the kitchen cabinet...Happy with the purchase.

Bronze/good quality
My room is small. I live in Texas and everyone I know has a fan in their room because of the heat. This fan is solid. It's all metal. It is low noise but powerful. It sits perfectly on my small dresser in my room. I got the Bronze. It looks very stylish. I love it. I would recommend this fan to anyone.

GOOD FAN
So far this is a GOOD FAN. It’s hot and muggy in Eastern Nebraska, and I’ve had it running on high on the porch, because if it messes up, I want it to do it before 30 days. Have had it on high on multiple days, and zero issues. Cord is super beefy, and fan has a great retro look. Moves good air, our porch is 12x16, and it makes a difference. If something goes haywire, I’ll update this review.

Rattles and smaller than title indicates but decent looking
The good things - it was totally assembled and ready to go. Metal build is pretty nice but plastic power dial and oscillating button are about like cheaper fans. The tilt is limited and cannot be aimed up from the floor to the bed height very well and the nut had to be tightened as much as I could to keep it from falling back down after tilting up. The rattle, however, is the deal killer. I can see several other reviews with the word rattle and some questions and answers, now that I searched for that word. One person said they fixed it by using a zip-tie around the metal housing and the motor. That is not something acceptable for a new quality fan. It may be that a small percentage rattle since there are so many positive reviews but mine is, what it is. I could wiggle it and seem to stop the rattle or wiggle it again and get the rattle to start again. Another issue is the "17" for the size in the title (right now - maybe they will correct it). This fan is not 17" diameter but is 12" as shown on the picture of the actual box. It turns out the 17" is the height if you look at the details of all the included pictures but this is, in fact, the same size as other fans which show 12" in the title. This fan is exactly the same size as my Hunter "All Metal Retro Table Fan" which shows 12 (not 17) and was bought here 10 years ago and is still working great (may buy another to replace this return). Maybe having that Hunter retro fan made my expectations high but this was the same price, highly reviewed and bigger (I thought - not really) so I tried it.
