The mermaid blankets range from baby, child and adult sizes. Length sizes are from the top (waist) of the blanket to the line that separates tail and fin. Fin is not sewn closed so you can slide your feet in and wiggle it around like a real mermaid! Doll sizes have an opening of about 20", newborn sizes 26", baby/infant sizes are about 30", Child sizes are about 45" and Adult sizes are about 60". For a full size blanket (shoulders to toes) I recommend measuring from toes to shoulders, add a few inches for room to grow and choose the closest size in the drop down options box. For a lap/waist blanket, measure from bottom of ribs to feet, add as many inches for growth as you would like and choose the closest size in the drop down options box. Mermaid tail blanket sizes may vary slightly because they are handmade, but I do try my best to get them as accurate as possible. Because of this, It is better to order larger than smaller.
