Q: do you use for regular toothpaste for whitening?

I don’t know if ‘whitening’ toothpaste works any better that regular toothpaste. I use both. My fav is Supersmile (with the whitening power of Calprox). it’s so expensive for a 4.2oz tube - but you only need a pea size amount & your teeth & mouth feel so clean & fresh ! I’ve used it for years. I occasionally use a regular- just to mix it up . For whitening you can mix baking powder, salt& hydrogen peroxide into a paste - it works great. Amazon sells Supersmile. When you can’t squeeze anymore out of the tube - cut the tube in half ! There is much left inside the tube. Store the halves in a plastic baggie so the paste doesn’t dry out. You’ll have 2 more weeks of product 😉
