Very nice looks fast data backup and nice compact size and Velur for money product

I recently purchased this 1TB hard disk which is light weight. My main reservation is the high cost; I feel the price should be lower for what it offers. As I anticipated, the transfer speeds are quite slow, so it's not ideal for frequent, large transfers. On the positive side, it comes with a generous warranty period, which provides some peace of mind. Crucially, I believe it's safe to store important files on it, which is the primary purpose of a hard drive. Overall, I'd say it's an okay product for bulk storage, provided you're aware of the slower speeds and higher price point.

Working good. All my previous 2tb drives are gonr within one week of copying data and after replacement also same problems, all with USB pin on drive end and very stiff cable. This one working fine from last 6 months. Now a days drives are not reliable, 15 years back Seagate drives of 500 and 1 tb are so reliable, i still use them. Defineley u need data backup.

Extremely lightweight and cost-effective option for high-capacity portable storage and can also easily fit on any desktop that is cramped for space. Speeds are good and connection is stable via the included USB cable.

I ordered this on January 18, 2026, and got delivery within just 2 hours - super fast! But the drive came in a plain envelope without any bubble wrap or box safety, even though it was a brand box inside. That was my mistake - I should have rejected it right away due to improper packaging. It worked fine initially, but on February 1st, it suddenly stopped working completely - wouldn't power on at all. When I contacted Amazon support, they said the return window was closed, so I had to file a warranty claim with Seagate. Contacted Seagate support - they first offered a refurbished replacement, which made no sense for a brand-new purchase. After a long discussion, they finally agreed to send a brand-new drive, but I had to ship the defective one to their Chennai office first. It took me 3-4 days to find a courier, but then I contact Seagate again and discussed and they said they provide free pickup services, so no extra cost there. However, the new drive would only ship 10 days after they receive the old one. The confirmation PDF didn't mention "new" - it only said used/refurbished, so doubt remained. I contacted Amazon again. The first agent started a return/refund but later refused saying the lead team denied it. Had a long call explaining the whole issue. They said if Seagate is denning for replace in that case i have to send Amazon an official mail from Seagate with denial of replacement and then only Amazon will refund me otherwise, they won't refund. It felt like a scam - seller is deliberately sending defective items with poor packaging. Checked reviews: multiple users had the exact issue - HDD failing within 15 days of purchase, no Amazon support, and Seagate sending refurbished drives despite high price paid. No choice but to proceed with Seagate's free pickup. But hours later, Amazon emailed that my return request was approved! Somehow, the item was returned successfully, and I got a full refund. IF YOU WANT TO BUY THIS ITEM FROM HERE THINK 100 TIMES. THE SELLER IS DOING SCAM. YOU CAN FIND MORE REVIEWS SIMILAR ISSUE HAPPENDED WITH THEM.
