truly a Cinderella story
This is a romantic Cinderella story...It is not a erotic version but a sweet and romantic story. This story is a good read.

It was an OK book. Felt like textbook romance. Could have been a bit more interesting and energetic. Was OK.

Another great book.
HP has outdone itself this month. It has been dismal pickings lately and I really want to thank them for October's offerings!!!This book was simple. A Cinderella type story with a makeover and an HEA. Many people might say insipid but it was a breath of fresh air. Loved the H and the h both. He turned her life into the life she might have had if her Father hadn't married unwisely. I felt them falling in love, I felt her fear is losing her house and her heart, and the H was just perfect. He knew what he had to do to make her believe in herself and him. I really loved this book. Hope you do too

Good Reading
The title gave me a hint of the theme of the story but in no way could it prepare me for the fun between the covers of A Cinderella for the Greek by Ms. James.Unlike the fairy tale, Ellen chooses to dress and act the way she does as a form of armor. Unfortunately her choice of armor arose by being emotionally abused; the scars are inside her mind and it’s going to take a force of nature to undo years of intimidation. That force comes in the form of a very sexy, wealthy and determined Max Vasilikos who won’t take no for an answer and Ellen is in the way of something he wants, badly. The first chapter set the stage with all the players and it hooked me so thoroughly, laundry and dishes were forgotten. This was going to be good.Basically, the ‘mouse’, Ellen, butts heads with the lion leaving Max the ‘lion’ surprised, bemused and intrigued. Ellen poses a greater challenge than Max bargained for and the sparks fly as he tries all kinds of ways to not only get his way but to figure out what makes Ellen tick. Naturally there are assumptions and preconceived ideas that get in the way and half the fun is watching how Ms. James has her characters knock each one of them down.As any good romance plots go, there’s the requisite mix-up of intentions, emotional explosions and heartfelt anguish that the hero and heroine have to battle in order to achieve their happy ever after. There is actually quite a bit of internal dialogue that applies to both Max and Ellen so a reader can get a sense that the hero and heroine are both falling in love with the other but are fighting it too. What I appreciated about Max is his ability to teach Ellen some important life lessons. They were hard learned and of course it caused doubt as to whether or not their budding love could mature enough to overcome the truths Ellen had to face. Since this is a romance story with a happy ever after, it’s a safe bet that all will turn out okay. It’s the journey of going from pain to passion, enemies to lovers and sad to happy that kept me flipping the pages. For readers who need that lovey-dovey wrap-it-all-up in an epilogue moment, rest assured A Cinderella for the Greek delivers it in classic romantic fashion. If a reader enjoys Cinderella rescue stories, then this book is worth checking out.originally posted at long and short reviews

The story could have been good, but it just never really got going
The story could have been good, but it just never really got going. No peek, no real romance, and it didn't tie the loose ends very well. It also drug out. The part with the "makeover" went on and on. I could barely finish this. I skipped several pages and it really didn't make a difference because of how long things drug on. Just very blah.

Started out being a great story.
Started out being a great story...ended up just being a dud...authors today are just producing books without any substance. The description of the house and what it meant to her was so much more than the feelings for the man this heroine was supposed to love!!!!!

Not for me
The hero was actually a really nice guy all through the story.... Too nice to be a M&B hero! I prefer more strong character heroes. There was no real knack in the story. If anybody like a simple nicey, nicey without any hitch Cinderella story then that's for you.

Great
The storyline is great, the Characters are extremely likeable. A very enjoyable easy read. Got a tiny bit too mushy for me at the end. But all in all I would recommend it.

It's Okay if you like this author's style
Umm. Umm. And yet again Umm. So it starts as fabulously sexy Greek self-made Max wants to acquire a property known as "Haughton" for redevelopment purposes. So he lands up there. The Wicked Stepmother and Stepsister meet him. Where's Cinderella you ask? Well, "hefty" Ellen lands up and Max sorrowfully gazes at her wondering how can two sisters be so unalike. Well, thankfully (for small mercies if you ask me) Stepsister is not his style - too anorexic it seems. Anyways Hefty Ellen does not want to sell the castle as it is the only remaining memory of much loved papa. So she informs Max. However, she has only one-thirds and Stepmom and Stepsis have two-thirds between them. But Ellen can make the whole issue messy with a long drawn out court case as well Max knows. Anyways, Max feels drawn to "Haughton" - starts thinking of trying to buy it for himself and lay down roots. Then shocker he sees "hefty Cinderella" who is a sports teacher on her daily run and says "wow Greek goddess" forget "sorrow" and forget "hefty". So, she becomes his mission to leave her secluded lifestyle and see the world, etc, etc, etc. You see, he believes wicked Stepmom and Stepsis who tell him Ellen begrudged her father his happiness. And I think you can guess the rest this being a Mills and Boon. Sexy Max finds out the truth and how "holy" Ellen is in a sense but only after "makeover time" and loads of lovey dovey holidays. Basically I felt this book was not my scene. The initial humour of hefty Ellen was funny. But when they came up with Victorian/Edwardian ball makeover (over the top) and her persistently thanking Max as some crusader who rescued her and even the initial love scene was really in a slang word "thick". Though the style of this book is strange at times I like the beginning and the ending bit where she tells Max off about his misconception of the Wicked Stepmom and Stepsis. Very droll in the beginning. But altogether I would give only 3 stars. It's okay.

A great read to escape the every day.
With all M&B stories, you need to suspend belief and go along with the fantasy. This book was no different. A modern day Cinderella story - complete with the ugly (in personality) Stepmother and Stepsister, ball and Prince Charming - who was also partly the Fairy Godmother as he was the one to bring out Cinderella's beauty. The writing style was quite dramatic and over the top - perfect for this story (and very much in the M&B Sexy style). The emotion and romance was palpable and the love-making scenes were lightly sensual, not graphic or gratuitous in any way. Loved the story, love this author!
