Wickedly alluring!
The book is written perfectly well with exact amount of deception and cunningness with greed and envy.A great book, a must read for fantasy fans.

Meh
I was okay. I felt it was like a lot of fragmented pieces stuck together without finesse. There was no flow. No building. The story was good just the delivery a bit off. I don’t how else to explain but all i can think reading this book is there is no flow.

A mesmerising read!
Kerri's writing has been one of my favourites recently and I can't seem to get enough. Beautiful writing and plot building.

It was okay
While I did enjoy certain parts, I felt it was dragging till the end with nothing really impactful happening. I love book series but with this one I don't think I'm gonna buy the 2nd book any sooner.

It was refreshing and my most favorite trope
Family, especially sibling bond is a really important thing for me. Book series like A Court of Thorns and Roses was really a put down for me and have deteriorated my mental health and I was searching for books where great siblings bonds are portrayed. This book was on my tbr for a long while but when I read about the main protagonist going crazy trying to retrieve vengeance for the death of her twin I couldn't stay away any longer.I really liked the Emilia.Liked that she is cultured and lovely but when necessary she could be savage and monstrous. While I really hate characters, doesn't matter which gender, who are rude without a cause towards people who are trying to be helpful, I found her impoliteness and wariness towards the Duoteragonist Wrath really interesting and justified. The perpetrator was obvious. The traitor was obvious too. All in all I found the whole plot really obvious but Kerri's writing was what set the atmosphere and held the interest of the readers. The old Victorian atmosphere in Sicily. The description of everything, including the food and items needed for witchcraft weren't long and were put out as long as they held interest and necessity. All in all I am held up and excited for the next book and am hoping to really see where Maniscalco takes us next with Emilia and possibly Wrath.

Witchy! Sassy! And A Slow Burn Romance to Root for!
(Voluntarily reviewed an eARC of the book on For The Love of Fictional Worlds)When the author of a series that made me root for a strong, intelligent feminist heroine with her first series - you just know that I would be obsessively looking out for the first book in a series about narcissistic Princes of Hell and a young witch hell bent on revenge - and I imagine you would have heard my screams when I was approved for the eARC of the book!A family of witches living in hiding and running their own restaurants and the twin girls of the family have grown up with the cautionary tales of Princes of Hell and their seductive powers from their grandmother; never wondering or even believing that those tales were actually true. When one of the twins finds her sister horrifically murdered; it puts her on a journey that will open her eyes to the secrets that her own twin was keeping from her; but also that the tales that her grandmother used to tell her and her sister were not only true but that she has a huge part to play in it!Like any first book in a series; there is a whole lot of world building, but the best part I have found in Maniscalco’s writing and plotting is that; we find our way WITH the protagonist rather willing them to finally reach the conclusion that we as readers would have already known from the start - trust me, it makes a whole lot of difference to be ON the journey with the MC rather than being a spectator. And can I just say, no one, NO ONE writes a sarcastic, narcissistic and charmingly careless, yet impeccably dressed anti - villain like Maniscalco does (okay, don’t @ me with Kaz, he is on a whole different level!) - and thus, making sure that the reader is not only invested in the story, but almost certainly WANTS more!If you have read Stalking Jack The Ripper series; you will most definitely find similarities, though that could just be writing style of the author - and the distinctive atmospheric plot that she is known for!P. S. There were a few editing issues and pacing of the plot line - which I am really hoping that the final copy won’t have!

Series Review
The Kingdom of the Wicked Series had me binge reading with a ferocity! I managed to get through all 3 books in a matter of 6 days and absolutely loved everything about it. For the sake of avoiding spoilers, I decided to review series as a set as to not give too much away. The series follows Emilia, a witch, who finds her twin sister brutally murdered on an altar in her hometown of Sicily. Emilia’s search for clues leads her to experimenting with magic she has been warned against by her family her entire life. In her attempt to summon a demon for information, Emilia summons the Prince of Wrath, one of the seven Princes of Hell who she begins to develop a conflicting attraction to. With the help of Wrath, Emilia gets closer to solving her twins murder, but begins to get pulled deeper into the court of the wicked, where there are secrets that may cost Emilia her soul.Emilia’s family owns a restaurant and the author’s connection with food recipes is integrated throughout the series, which I thought was a nice touch. The series takes place in both Sicily and within the seven circles of hell where the princes of Wrath, Pride, Envy, Lust, Greed, Gluttony, and Sloth make up the Kingdom of the Wicked. The world building within the court of the wicked and how each circle represents its assigned sin was one of my favorite parts in reading these books. There was mystery, spice, fantasy, and paranormal elements, all which are big wins for me as a reader. I loved Emilia’s character development and enjoyed seeing how fierce she became with each passing book. The author has a spin off, Prince of Sin series, set within the same universe which I will be moving onto shortly.TW: Murder, Grief, Death, Open Door

A mitologia de bruxaria criada é bastante interessante e envolvente. A leitura não é cansativa e evolui com bastante cuidado.
