Replogle Globes Allanson Globe, 12-Inch Diameter

Q: Is there any metal on the globe...base, meridian, etc.

Was bought for someone else, but, as far as I can remember, the base and meridian are light weight metal

Q: Does this globe illuminate?

No the globe does not illuminate.

Q: Are the states (USA) outlined and identified?

The states are labeled, and if you look really hard, you can see faint outlines of the states in light grey. However, in tightly packed areas like the Northeast, I find it almost impossible to identify state boundaries. Quite frankly, the USA looks like a sea of solid green, but this doesn't bother me at all. It depends on what your needs are.

Q: Would this be used with push pins to mark your travels?

We have not used push pins on our globe. So, don’t know if they would go through. Also, the globe couldn’t spin if the push pins stuck up too far off the surface. The axis mount would knock the pin heads.
