I have been extensively searching for a pair of boots that actually meets full safety. Some are low, some are mids and some are high but what I needed was protection, comfort and agile. I did like all those track boots but I have seen my friends use them and later the heel plastics just peel off and had protection but for track. I have loved the adv boots as they are tall, full covered and is made for protection. Our Indian roads are a combination of all elements so have to think of all possibilities. I usually ride on tarmac and never on offroad trails. So every video or Google search pointed me towards a track boot or a city boot but that was not what I needed. I had my heart on adv boot but for tarmac purpose. And no one recommended it. So with the help of desertcart and Super moto outfit, I laid my hands on these Beautiful boots by Alpinestar. Tech 3 were the softest among all the other adv boots available on desertcart along with rigid protection. On getting the boots I was really skeptical as they were hard very hard and I have to use them with my Duke. The inner layer was so comfortable but the outer layer was hard and almost felt like I had a plaster wrapped around my legs which was also exactly I would want for the protection. So as guided I started breaking them in and also made a few adjustments to my gear and brake lever and right now I am learning to drive with them. A few days after the use I am able to shift my gears right, I still miss them sometimes, I still have to learn a lot. It seems all adv boots are not for tarmac they are specifically for a dirt track but still one or two you can enjoy the protection and also the tarmac. I would recommend Alpinestar Tech 3 for tarmac use as they are built of high quality materials and are meant to give you the best of safety in high speeds along with comfort and wider range of movement. Also do remember the gear and brake lever needs to be adjusted to the boots so that you can go under the lever to shift up. The brakes however needs to be set down so that you can pull your boots above. It will be a new skill set that one has to learn for the need of safety rather than just use it like a regular shoe. My first pair of boots so I can’t say how much better the tech 7s or 9s are gonna be I’m sure they protect far better, but I paid $140 for these they are a great deal and I’m pumped to hop on the 2 smoke!!

These Tech 3’s are definitely the best bang for your buck. I had my old tech 3’s for at least 10 years. Finally wrecked them with a foot peg in a crash. Boot did its job though. No injury to foot or ankle. Just took the new ones out of the box, and the fit is perfect. The buckles have been updated and are easier to adjust and close. I’ll update on performance once the snow is gone.
