I enjoyed the game a lot. There's lots to do in this game from side missions to story mode to online. The main character starts off as Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan) and you start to acquire different heroes (Ironman, Captain America, Hulk and so on). The PlayStation version also has a free exclusive DLC for Spider-Man, which is a must download and it's not available for Xbox. I ended up returning this as I realized that the PS4 version could be upgraded to the PS5 version for free. You can get two versions and two sets of trophies by getting the PS4 version.

I'd heard lackluster reviews from some on the PS4 version, but gave the PS5 version as soon as it came out. I was really taken aback at how incredibly detailed and well-polished the game was from the very first moments. Everything is silky-smooth, perfectly animated, and even the voice acting is better than I was expecting. Heck, even the motion-capturing is better than expected -- there's a whole silent scene that takes place in the front of an RV that is hilarious just from the body language alone.Some reviews said they didn't like that the main character for the core campaign is Kamala Kahn, and wanted to play the big Avenger characters instead. To that, two points: you can play as the other Avengers as much as you'd like in the side missions and individual character story lines, and Kamala Kahn is one of the most interesting "new" characters in the Marvel universe. Like Miles Morales, Kamala Kahn provides a fresh take on familiar stories with much more nuance (particularly in the comics, unfortunately much of that is lost in the game as it skips past most of her origin story). Plus her character is one of the most fun to play, if one is honest.I was also pleasantly surprised that the gameplay is more cinematic an engaging than I'm used to in most Marvel games. I was expecting it to be one generic combat after another, and although you do see some of that later on for the most part the game is one exciting set piece after another, with extremely varied environments and action. It's almost as much fun to watch as it is to play.I have downloaded the first free DLC expansion with Hawkeye and the Future Imperfect campaign, but have not yet tried it with so much content to work through in the base game. I will be playing this one for quite a while. A thoroughly enjoyable game.
