Excellent product

I have a small fold up camping fire pit / BBQ which allows embers to fall through the vents, so I wanted something lightweight and compact that I could put underneath to protect the ground and vegetation. After trying a few different options this seems to be the best choice for my needs. It does catch all the embers and has not burnt through, however it doesn’t insulate much so the heat of the ember can still damage grass underneath. With careful use it does what I need it to do.

Really put this product to the test, after 3 days burning over the Matt, once cooled down and folded it’s like brand new still

Picture is from no protection (bottom) vs with the blanket (top). Some improvement but my wood burning fire pit which sits about a foot off the ground still scorched the grass.

Very pleased with it , use underneath my Hot Tent wood burning stove and with a Fire pit in the garden. Well made plenty big enough.

Very dissapointing. First use with a foil tin type disposable bbq. Placed a square of 3/4 inch ply on grass with the fireproof mat on top, then the tin. An hour after lighting the bbq, the ply underneath caught fire. Poured water over it to extinguish it, and found the grass under the ply was browned. Not suitable for disposable bbqs

Use on top of washing machine to protect from electric hob above
