No need to cut your plug off because with this switch there is no hard wiring needed. Easily mount to your custom made router table or anywhere that you need a safe high amp rated power switch and then plug the tool into the 3 prong recepticle of the switch. This switch cannot be accidentally turned on when you pull out the yellow safety key, even when you flip the switch. This is a great feature that will make you feel safe when you are handling the bits that are attached to the router because you know for sure that it won't be accidentally turned on when your fingers are near the blade. While operating your router or power tool this switch has a shut of paddle to get your power tool cut off quickly when you need it. This switch is rated for 110 Volt and up to 15 amps.
