Q: Trying to decide between silicone coated or not.. do you have problems with glasses slipping and tumbling?? Any issues with rusting?

The Rack is pretty stable, if you put too many dishes it will slide. No rust yet, make sure you dry the rack itself as well. I have no problem with the rack so far.

Q: Are they hollow tubes or solid stainless rods?

They seem to be solid rods. I have placed several heavy pots and pans on the rack for drying, and while it bends a little in response there has never been a permanent deformation. I think this is overall a good product, and despite it being a bit pricey I would definitely buy one again. Strongly recommended.
