As the name implies, Fish Phone turns your smart phone or tablet into a fully functional underwater camera monitor. Now anyone with a smart phone or tablet will get a high quality video image delivered right to the palm of your hand. Using Wi-Fi signal technology to create its own "hotspot" that reaches out 100 feet in all directions, so you can share your video signal with as many friends as you like or keep it totally secure. You don't need cell phone coverage to use it, the Fish Phone works anywhere in the world. The FREE software App is downloaded from the App store and works with both Android and IOS systems. Fish Phone is a stand alone, fully functional, Smart Phone controlled system that allows you to record video or still images and easily send it off to your friends in an e-mail or text. The Fish Phone comes with a unique holder and battery pack system that makes it easy to carry and manage 50 feet of cable. The portable Fish Phone pack system can power your Fish Phone for six hours between charging. The camera used in the Fish Phone system is a Sony Color/B&W camera that automatically shifts from color to black and white when light conditions are limited to increase contrast. There is little doubt underwater camera technology is getting lighter and more portable and with the Fish Phone, Vexilar will be changing the way people look at underwater camera systems.

Four Stars
Works well and fun to play with. Getting the camera to rotate by twisting the cable takes some finesse.

I'm really happy with this purchase
I'm really happy with this purchase, especially compared to the Aqua-Vu I previously owned. The Vexilar setup is simple and the unit connects to tablets and smartphones without fail. I used it in a sleeper fish house on Mille Lacs in Minnesota and four of us were sitting at our respective holes, but tuned in to the camera on each of our devices. Worked like a charm.

I plan on selling it for a loss.
Pros:- Highly Portable- Rechargeable battery built-in to case- Color video- Easy WIFI set up- I personally tested to 30' with a nexus 7 and had clear picture (sorry, could not test deeper in area I was in)Cons:- The cable is precariously thin for its intended use and use environments. It's about twice the thickness of most cell phone charging cables I have -- pretty thin. A few more dollars in the manufacturing process probably could purchase some sort of "braided" cable shielding. Hardware hackers take note... updating the cable would be upgrade #1. They do warn you and state that it includes a "lightweight cable"... but I think they meant for that as a "pro" and not a "con".- It's very hard to "point" at anything. As example, I was jigging and wanted to point the camera at the jig to watch it. The process involved rolling the wire around between the fingers to get the camera to "turn" a little. The camera would swing and turn all over the place down there if it wasn't dropped on the bottom. When on the bottom, you're forced to whatever angle the bottom is at.- Not heavy enough to fight minor currents / tide movements. The product includes a "trolling fin" of some sort. I must be doing something wrong, because I don't see how this thing would be at all useful if either you or the water was moving.Summary:If I were to keep it, I would plan to make some sort of lightweight adjustable stand to keep it from being stuck on the bottom with poor viewing angles.I suppose it would be good for ice fisherman or situations where the water isn't moving much and you are fishing in one spot right on top of them.

Great Camera
I am using the camera to record pictures and videos of invasive weeds in our lake. It's a lot easier than diving and the recorded pictures are great. Being able to email directly from the boat is nice. On a windy day holding the camera still when it is 30' down is a challenge. This is a great value for the money.

Very well satisfied I used it steady for about 8 hours and the battery showed very little use
