I just needed a cheap mic for speech-to-text and hoped I wouldn't have to lean over and breathe on it every time I use it. Well, I don't keep it within my reach and it doesn't miss a word. It stays out of sight and out of the way so I don't have to bother with it. It has a knob for sensitivity and a touch sensor for muting which is preferable for conference calls. It's better than expected and even works well messing around with AI voice cloning. Not bad for under twenty bucks. I think I've been using it for a month now. The only thing that could go wrong is if it falls apart but it feels solid so we will see. If it quits working I'll be back to edit this review to include the date even if it's years from now. Very pleased with my purchase and recommend to anyone trying to sort through all the garbage products for something of quality at a low price. (I didn't rate it for gaming because I use headphones but I may try it out just to see how it works. I'll leave an edit if I do)

Price and worked grate and easy to connect

Actually really good microphone quality, unfortunately the conductive style mute system sucks excrement and always gets stuck one way or another. Will get a different one with a physical switch this time.

It was sort of on a whim that I looked up standalone microphones. I have used mostly wired and wireless headsets for Dragon dictation at work, and it just seemed unnecessary to be wearing a headset constantly. I was happy to find that these standalone microphones exist. I was skeptical it would work as well as a headset since the microphone is much further from my mouth. But so far it seems to be doing at least as well as my headsets. And I was pleasantly surprised to find that it also seems to block out the background noise as well as my noise-cancelling headsets. I can have the radio playing through a speaker right behind the microphone, and I can dictate just as I normally would and the background music does not seem to interfere at all. So overall, I am very pleased and just ordered another one for home use as well.

So, I am using this on a MacPro, powered, not laptop. I tried several USB ports, front and back and a USB Hub, same hum... I have another USB Mic, Apogee 96K and it DOES NOT HUM, same MacPro USB ports!!!! SOOOoooo, this mic hums (suggest manufacturer properly ground this mic internally, that would get rid of the hum), this mic is convenient for gaming, NOT for Vlog, or Pro work... the easy setup is great, the mute button is great, the volume control is great, the build quality is very good, the hum is NOT GOOD, acceptable for gaming, nothing else. I would suggest trying another mic that doesn't hum, but other than the Apogee 96K I have (at around $260), I don't know what cheap mic to recommend. So, I have studio headphones, didn't want to replace those, but did want to get a mic for gaming mic, this one works great for Windows and Mac, but it has a very annoying pretty loud hum???? (I have studio mic's, so use those for sound recording). I might send it back, but for gaming it's fine. It plugs in USB, has volume control and mute button, and connects with no problems, used for Steam Gaming, tested on Mac with a GarageBand recording and there is an annoying hum. I can hear the hum in the gaming on Windows as well.

Satisfied with my purchase. Light-weight, easy to connect, no additional software or drivers required. Picks up sound well and looks good on my desk.

The only way it (JV610Pro) could be worse is if it didn't work at all. I tried it on two different computers and with several settings on the volume knob. The knob does make a difference, but even with the volume set all the way to high, the audio it captures is WAY too low. With it on low, it doesn't capture anything at all. The mute button seems like a good idea, but it is completely independent of the mute function in Windows. So now there are two ways to mute. This is not as good of an idea as it might seem, since there can be a mixed message as to the function of the microphone. Sending it back, since it basically doesn't work. Maybe I got a defective one.

Clarity just OK. Large desktop footprint. Atrocious customer service - they just ignore emails. Would not purchase again.

I use this for Teams / Zoom calls daily and it is dramatically better than either my laptop's built-in mic or the mic in my C920 webcam. It is also better than the mic in my Jabra headset, so very happy all round. Sound quality confirmed by various people I've been calling - everyone thinks this is an improvement.
