Excellent product, works as advertised.
I purchased two of these units, one to keep upstairs and one for the basement. My upstairs is over our garage so it's always warmer in the summer, colder in the winter. Now we can have an idea of how much different the climate will be, same for the basement. Connectivity was a breeze, just have to change the dip switch if using multiples for the different channels.

Goes PERFECTLY With My Home Automation
I couldn’t be happier with this ecowitt sensor. Setup was quick and hassle-free --> it paired easily with my ecowitt gateway (the gateway is what is tied to my home automation). I actually keep this sensor in my freezer to prevent food spoilage incase there is a problem with the power or freezer. The readings are accurate and update frequently, and the build quality feels solid. I especially appreciate how compact and low-profile the sensor is --> it's easy to mount or tuck away without being obtrusive. The battery life so far has been excellent as well.If you're looking for a reliable and flexible way to expand your home climate monitoring, this sensor is absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!

Great product. Setup isn't too bad. Paired with ecowitt soil moisture sensor makes keeping track of plants dry back. The data graph is amazing. It has really help me dial in a good watering schedule.

Blinking Lights
I hated I had to buy this for a ecowit product that said it was already WiFi capable, but it did fix the connection issue. This is small enough to hide behind a frame or something big so it’s not seen. The blinking light at night can be kind of annoying though.

A must-have device for any grower!
I have tried sooooo many moisture meters from really cheap crap with double metal rods that show light intensity, moisture, and soil pH which is always inaccurate, single metal rod by XLUX company and those are reliable and very accurate but you have to poke the soil in multiple places which damages roots, also used the Blumat $90 meter which is way overpriced and it only shows the moisture without any graph 📈 or remote Bluetooth or Wi-Fi capabilities, and bunch of other ones that were always showing wrong readings until someone told me to try these Ecowitt WH51 and WH51L sensors. The WH51 model is great and shows moisture levels from the top 7 inches of soil which is great for all types of pots up to 7 to 10 gallons. The beauty about this Wi-Fi Gateway is that you have access to the data from anywhere in the world and it comes with graphs that show previous readings that you can compare and dial in your watering habits for better performance. You can add up to 8 devices per each GW1100 Wi-Fi Gateway and it comes with an app as well as their website and you can set up alerts to come in through the app as well as get an email when soil goes below your indicated level which is very very useful. Now when it comes to raised beds and 20 gallon containers I have to purchase the WH51L model which comes with a probe attached to 1 meter long cable which allows you to use them in deep pots/beds/containers and they can also be connected to the same Wi-Fi Gateway. Both models are very accurate. The Wi-Fi gateway also has a temperature and humidity and pressure sensor which gives you readings of the room where the sensor is located. I plugged mine in inside my grow room next to my grow tents to monitor the temperature and humidity inside that room to make sure my grow tents are in an optimal environment. I can't say enough good things about Ecowitt. Customer service is very helpful and very responsive. The only thing I did not like is that they are based in China and you can't really call them and the only method of communication is via email but like I said they are very helpful and responsive. If you haven't tried this company yet then don't waste your money on anything else and do yourself a favor get this Wi-Fi gateway along with the moisture meters and anything else you might need because you won't be disappointed. I will surprised that they are so inexpensive and work so great. I mean when comparing to the Blumat meter that cost $90 it's like comparing apples to oranges because for $90 it should be able to do more, at least have remote capability but it doesn't even have that option. In my opinion it's extremely overpriced and these Ecowitt devices without a doubt are blowing away Blumat meters. I hope this helps.

Temperature Monitors
These are great for our warehouse to monitor ambient temps throughout the week.

Great unless you care to be notified if there's an issue
I have been using 5 of these for the last 2 years: 2 x 2 refrigerators (fridge+freezer sections), 1 x outside. I am yet to change the batteries and they have been working well. The temp and humidity are not 100% perfect, but small error is consistent. So I trust them. The app looks pretty antiquated, pretty poor UI, but it shows me what I need to see. I'm not picky, I'd be perfectly content with the product. But here's the biggest issue: The whole point of placing these in the the fridge or freezer is to know if there's something wrong, that the food is about to spoil and either hurry back home or ask a neighbor to check things out if I'm out of town. For that I need push notifications. The app only triggers alerts via email. This is not good enough, I have been consistently missing these emails. The "workaround" is to filter them into a folder (label as gmail calls them) and try to keep an eye on that. This is just not good enough.I've seen people report this back in 2019. It is 2025. I reached out to the support team and they told me that their products are global and since push notifications are phone/region dependent, they have no plans to develop push notifications due to the amount of work. There are many, many, too many "global" apps that have push notifications. Charge an extra 1-2 dollars per device or euros or whatever currency is used where you sell your products and add invest in your development team.I knew what I was buying 2 years ago but did not imagine that in 2025 they still wouldn't have push notifications in their app. So unless someone can suggest how I can make email alerts more visible, I will be forced to spend more money, throw these in the garbage, and get something else. I got my inlaws 2 sensors from the company who's name starts with Yo and I get notifications 1000 miles away when they forget to close the door. So, if you care about knowing when there is an issue with your heating or cooling device, especially when you're not home, this is not the product for you. If this is not an issue or you figured out a way to promptly see certain emails without looking at your phone every time an email comes in across multiple accounts, I highly recommend it. For me, it is useless anymore after the latest issue with my freezer door that my kid didn't push all the way.
