This is useful when fresh lemongrass is not available, is an adequate substitute but one has to use a lot more than recommended to achieve the desired flavor in a dish with other spices that are strong."blooming" it in oil, along with finely chopped fresh ginger, onions and with some added sugar (palm sugar if you have it) produces a pretty good base for sauces and you should add this product to taste.It's handy in this form but it will not keep for a long time as it loses its pungency over a period of a few months. The cost is reasonable if one uses it up while it is still potent.

Huge container, hard to find

Very fine powder but not the easiest to dissolve in water. Overall, a good product when factoring in it's added health benefits. BUY!

Lemon grass? I don't taste anything remotely citrussy or lemony. It tastes like plain powder. I heard that lemon grass is supposed to have a tangy citrus flavor, and that's kind of what I was expecting with this one. I didn't taste any citrus or any lemon or lime flavors. It tasted plain like nothing.

It's a lot more expensive than the fresh one and doesn't have as strong of a flavor but it's handy when I don't feel like running to the grocery. I use it to marinate fish, add it to tomyum hotpot, etc. Lemon grass is a magic ingredient that can turn any dish from a 5 to a 10 😆
