I rarely give 5-star reviews but this camera really deserves it. We got this camera for my 6 years old son and it's been a year. He has been having so much fun with it. If you are looking for a quality image camera, this is not it for you. If you want an easy to maneuver camera that has a long-lasting battery, video capability and durability, this is perfect for you. The picture quality is not that bad for a kids camera either - think early google phones/iPhones picture quality. Video quality is not that bad either - it captures sound pretty nicely. It also has a minimal zoom capability which is often enough for a young child. I have a 32GB microSD in it and it stores hundreds of images and videos so you don't have to worry about deleting them constantly. My son loves printing photos and fun graphics to give to people. Genuine VTech printing paper rolls can be expensive but if you buy generic paper rolls it does get a little cheaper. It prints pretty nicely too. Don't expect your photo printer quality, but think store receipts with contrast. He also loves the mini games and it is a good time-passer when the kids get bored in the car or waiting in a long line. These games are nothing complicated or sophisticated but still fun enough for kids to be occupied by a short while. The graphics that can be applied to your photos or to print out are fun too. My son applies them to the photos he's taken and prints them out to gift to his friends. Again, another fun activity to keep your kids occupied when you need them to be not so wild while you are waiting in a line somewhere. What really amazes me is the durability of this camera. Nowadays, you expect things to go kaput within a few months when they are banged around so much. My son takes his camera everywhere and it's been banged around (dropped more than I can count) so much that I was sure it was going to break down soon. Yet, it is functioning perfectly well and even with lots of scratches and dents it is in perfect working order. (See attached photos for the damages he's caused) Just for the durability alone, these cameras deserve a 5-star. The wrist strap it comes with will fray and fall off eventually. I solved this issue with finding a cheap Daiso neck strap to replace it and it is working perfectly fine. I saw that Amazon sells them by like a 5-pack. Overall, this is a great camera for the price of it and it will really last. If your child is into taking quality photographs, look elsewhere - this isn't it. But it is perfect for your kids to take as many pics as they want when you are out and about. Plenty of things on one device for your kids to do.

Great little camera to give to a 5 year old. He loves the camera. So cool that you can print pictures and then give to everyone. Also, the ability to make a video is pretty amazing. The sound quality is pretty impressive. All in all, this give was a winner. It would be helpful to get the camera all setup before gifting and show how to use it. Also, able to get a group picture with the self-timer.

I'm so glad that I bought this for my 6 year-old. She's been playing with it nonstop. I love that she's spending all day being creative. I can't even tell you how many times that I've purchased a toy for it to only be played with for a day. To me, this is well worth the price and I feel like I have already gotten my money's worth. This does way more than I expected it to do. The pictures print off on thermal paper, so it's not going to be Polaroid quality, but it's perfect for a kid to draw and decorate and print off 50 pictures of silly random things. If you're going to get this, go ahead and get the refill pack. The roll it comes with lasted a surprisingly long time, considering how much my daughter is printing things off, but she loved it so much. I just purchased the pack with sticker paper and she's so excited to create her own stickers. This is a wonderful toy and I highly recommend it. Update: 5 months later and still played with regularly. Her favorite toy.

Got this for my kid. It's not too hard to use, but not much memory space. An SD card is highly recommended. The pictures aren't all that bad, and the printing is fun but don't expect very good quality. Unless the lighting is high. Too many shadows blurs an image. However the device itself is very hardy. Tough to withstand the wilds of a kid exploring. Great for entertaining young ones that want your phone constantly to take pictures.

*If your photos are printing blanks turn the paper roll around. I bought this as christmas gifts for my nephews. We set one up and were disappointed when photos weren't printing. I thought to try turing the paper roll around and that fixed the issue. My nephew loved his gift and his sister and cousins kept asking for a turn. They espeically loved the selfie mode! I personally love that it doesn't print every photo. You can take as many photos as you want and then choose your favorites to print. If you don't want to waste paper you can remove the paper and let your child have a ball being a photographer and then sit down and choose which pictures to print. This is a very cute and functional toy which I think will provide years of entertainment!

Grabbed 2 of these before Christmas for my then 3 & 6 year old. Got a great deal at $29.99. These have been sooo great! We previously purchased our daughter (6 year old) a Polaroid kids camera. Never worked right in lighting and film was too expensive. This was great alternative and the photo paper is cheap! They love all the borders, video capability, and games. Yes games, the camera comes with 3 games the kids can play. My kids are now 4 & 7, still loving these cameras. Best gift from Santa.

I am really disappointed with this product and the product support. Just so other consumers know ahead of time, this product can't be charged via wall outlet. If you charge it with a wall outlet, it voids the warranty. I am not sure why a non-computer peripheral would need to be charged via computer, especially a child's toy rated for ages 4-11? What child would know to charge this with a computer, heck I'm an adult and didn't realize that. Also this has a very short warranty - only 90 days. We purchased this piece of junk from Amazon as a Christmas present for our 7 year old and it has never worked. It acts like it's charging, the light turns green but won't turn on. VTech Customer service informed me that the warranty is voided due to not charging it with a computer. Buyer beware.

Print function does not work and no response from seller

Bought the camera for my 10 year old daughter for Christmas. She loves it. It’s prints black & white selfies and other pics, colouring pages and has other filters. It’s has several games and a decent screen. Overall satisfied!
