I am looking for a warm glow from a nightlight--somethung closer to yellow/golden rather than white or bluish. What color is this light?

They are not warm white they are closer to 5000K and very bright. Not sure why both colors have same part number ELN-085and package does not call out the color/temp. Package says not dimmable even though description says they are.

Is this too bright for bedroom?

Will not automatically turn on? Do they need some sort of activation?

No activation needed. The room must be dark. You can test the sensor by covering it with your thumb. It should light up. If not, the sensor is bad.
