A Basic Design That Still Works.
Does what it’s supposed to do. It’s a basic design that’s been around for decades. No need to get fancy. I have an older Taylor that didn’t have the wide range that this one does. And the pocket clip-holder it comes with has a built-in tool for calibration, if that’s ever needed. But it seems accurate right out of the box.

Read twice, order once
Tried and true, basic calibrate-able probe thermometer. This meat probe was my intended purchase, but as you can see, I also have a 40-120° probe because I didn’t read the description… Totally my fault and I found great use for both

Great
Works great, nice protective sleeve with a pen like clip for your pocket.

Trusted Soil Thermometer
This thermometer is an excellent value. As a zone 6B gardener, I needed an accurate thermometer to track soil temperature so I could plant my dahlia tubers. This thermometer is long enough to take a 6 inch read and it appears to be accurate, easy to read and sturdy.

Accurate right out of the package.
I've always trusted Taylor brand instruments and this one was true to form. Just don't accidentally leave it in the oven, like I did with it's predessor.

Pass this one up. It's not worth the money. Very slow read before the food starts cooling.
This product is fine if you like to wait 5 minutes for an accurate reading. This thermometer takes a long time to come up to temp. I was over cooking most of my food because I thought it was under safe temps because this would never reach the temp fast enough before the food would start cooling. I bought a different digital fast read thermometer and compared and my food was always done but not according to this one. It's fairly easy to read but if you have a child cooking and helping it could be confusing for them. Also I want to point out that anyone with bad eyesight would have a hard time seeing this thermometer dial. I will not recommend this or be re-buying it.

doesn't work
simply is not accurate. Does not register after 145 degrees no matter how long the roast is left in the oven. Good thing I did not trust it or my Thanksgiving bird would have been toast. (I borrowed a neighbors to double check and saw mine was way off.) Would have returned it but I had thrown away the packaging.
