The quality of material really stands out
Great balance between comfort and style. Versátiles enough to be pared with both casual and semi- casual outfits.

Not an 'Everyday Shoe.'
After being interested in these for several years, I finally pulled the trigger and bought a pair. Here are my thoughts.I wear a 10.5, so I took the advice and got a half-size smaller. Length matched, but the width was a bit narrow. Not enough to send back and they stretch out fairly soon. This is a good thing because with only 2 eyelets a side, a snug fit is probably not possible. Again, this is a good thing because the heritage of this shoe is casual wear, not strenuous work. They are not 'cushiony' and I feel a little bit of the seam between the heel and front-foot on the right side when I first start walking in them, even after breaking them in. I also notice the cup of the heel on both shoes for the first few minutes of walking. Both soon go away.I saw several mentions of water leaving stains when they get wet. I noted this and, even though I had no intention of wearing these in the rain, I've avoided water whenever possible. I did however get a couple of drops on them and, sure enough, you can see them a few weeks later. Don't wear them when the weather threatens rain.I got these to get a less boyish look when I wear shorts in warm/hot weather when I'm out running light errands. I'm pleased with the results. These are quality shoes that I will be able to wear for years. The expense suggest an everyday wear shoe, and I get that, but these are not that type of shoe. But under the right conditions, you can, and will, get a lot of wear out of them.

Superb quality, nice looking, and comfortable fitting shoe
I've always loved Clarks shoes, particularly the Chukka boot. Always a good fit, looks fantastic with jeans, and is comfortable right out of the box. They weather incredibly well and always looks better as they weather and age. Buy at least one pair every year. Excellent for work or casual settings. Solid shoe.

Not Originals
Although these are designates at "originals", they are not. Laces and eyelets are different and leather is stiffer. I wore Clark's Desert boots since the 60s and these are not them. I wear 10.5 and ordered 10.5. These were about a half size large. No longer made in England, but now in China. These are nice, but not original. Getting extra, contrasting laces with them was a plus.

5 STAR SHOES (IF YOU CAN HANDLE A LITTLE EXTRA INITIAL WORK)
here's the thing, these are my absolute favorite shoes. but the sizing isn't always consistent. I ordered the exact same pair, same size and color, and it was smaller than usual. I suggest trying them on in a store.the other thing is, get these originals with the gum rubber sole. they are TEN TIMES better than the cheaper version they call "bushacre" you might see at a discount price. trust me. they last longer and are much more comfortable. worth the extra cost.the soles are pretty flat. my feet need good arch support. i bought some ten dollar dr school's arch support cushions and BOOM--they feel perfect. I have to get half a size larger to make sure they fit with the arch supports.my final note is that the 4 lace holes aren't enough for me. i like to be able to lace a little higher so my foot doesn't slide around too much inside the shoe. you can go to a shoe repair cobbler place and they can do that--grommets and all--for not very much money.i know these are a lot of caveats for a shoe i rated 5 star but hear me out: after all these conditions were met, these have become my absolute FAVORITE shoes. i wear them almost every day. they match with 90% of my outfits. they look great, feel great, and like a good pair of jeans, they get better with age.as long as they keep making them in this style and color and I can find the size that fits right, i will probably keep buying them whenever i need to, forever.

Incorrect Sole
The Clark’s Chukka Boot is very stylish and I have owned multiple pairs over the last 15 years. However, there are two different “versions” of the shoe when it comes to the sole. The original shoe has the crepe sole, which is much lighter in color (the traditional sole that many Clark’s shoes are known for having). The other version has a harder, darker, rubber sole. The difference in the look is very subtle, but the difference in the comfort is dramatic. The crepe sole is much more comfortable to wear all day long. For this reason, the crepe sole typically retails around $150, while the hard, rubber sole can be found for $50-60.Having owned both types, I’m willing to pay more for the comfort of the crepe sole. My purchase was advertised at the crepe sole and was $150. As you can see from the picture, I received the hard, rubber sole.I’m sure it was an honest mistake in sorting, but this is not the product I paid for and I will be returning to purchase the Chukka with the crepe sole.
