Was hoping for it to work but it turned my tap water, the blu ionic filter water and my building pool water all the same colour of light brown. Would have excused the blu ionic filter and tap water being same but the pool water was also the same light brown. So far not impressed with this and initial impression is that its a waste of money for me but i'll see if i can test it on some distilled water later, not that it will be of any help to me because i wanted to test if there is any difference in colour between blu ionic shower filter and tap water.

Truth be told - I was cynical However, I'm pleasantly surprised. The strips work very well, and I can be 100% sure about this because I have my water softener connected to the hot water only. This is how I wanted it to be setup. I do not want my drinking water softened any more than it is, I actually have a separate filter for that anyway So, I did two tests, and as you can see from the photo. Green is the hot water tap result, and light brown is the cold water tap result. In a nutshell my hot water is soft, and my drinking water is mildly soft. Perfect! All-in-all a conclusive result and there are plenty of strips to last a very long time Would I recommend this product? 100% YES!

Easy and quick! Tried this out today and it worked great. Just dipped the strip in the water, waited a few seconds, and compared the color. Super simple! Mine showed around 3 gpg (about 50 ppm), so the water’s pretty soft. Nice little test kit to have at home — quick, cheap, and easy to read.

I've been waiting for something as simple and easy as this ever since I've had a water softener, so 15+ years. It's really easy to use, doesn't need batteries and this batch will likely last longer than I will. Great value too.
