A Rainbow of My Own

Great story! Short, sweet, and adorable! Very fun pictures. Really expresses imagination. Had to get a replacement as the first copy had been water damaged before arriving but 3 days later I had the replacement and it was perfectly fine. It’s one of our favorite stories. Anything by Don Freeman is quality bedtime stories. Or any time of day really. We have a large collection of his stories.

I wore out two copies of this book because my three kids all adored it. Now I add it to baby shower gifts. It's so simple, but it's quick to read and sweetly fanciful, with a little boy chasing around outside with a pretend rainbow that plays hide-and-seek with him, etc. My oldest is almost fifty and I can still quote the beginning (I think). "Today I saw a rainbow. It was so beautiful I wanted it for my very own..."

A sweet story for any age, whimsical and we paired it with a science book on rainbows and purchased a prism so our kiddo could make their own rainbow.

A good story and in great condition for being used. The pictures are fun and creative.

A little boy imagines what it would be like to play with a rainbow, and then comes home to find a real rainbow shining on his wall. This charming book has beautiful, colorful illustrations that captured my imagination as a child, and do the same for my four year old. The text makes it quite clear which parts are in the child's imagination and what really happens, which is a great way to support preschoolers and toddlers who are learning to delineate between what is real and what is pretend. There is about a sentence or two on each page and it's a quick but delightful read. I would recommend this for ages 2.5 through 5.

This is a beautifully illustrated book with a very fun, whimsical story line. I was instantly reminded of the charming and lovable Corduroy and my 5 year old niece was engaged in the story. I am so happy to have found this little treasure - I only wish I'd found it sooner, when my kiddos were still young. (Though as an adult, I'm pretty sure I love it just as much as my little niece.)

I was happy to find a book on rainbows the moment my 4 year old daughter asked for a "Rainbow" from Santa Claus.??? So I was to glad to find this story and my daughter was satisfied and pleased that her request was fulfilled.

A lovely story to tell to young children, my 4year olds loved it and then we created the school over selves

What a tresure of a book. Perfect for a child with a vivid imagination. We came across this book as a local school with a high intake of overseas children. I searched high and low for it in the UK only to find it originated in The States. In the end thanks to Amazon, I ordered it from a third party seller based in Atlanta, USA. Highly recommended!
