YAMAHA JetPod Pro Underwater Dive SeaScooter, Quick and Powerful Rotor with 3 Speed Control, Compact & Easy to use

I ordered this for my 2 grandkids to use in our pool for July 4th weekend, I charged it overnight, plugged the battery in and it literally ran for 15 minutes before stopping. I tried charging again, this time I noticed the LED on the charger did not light up so I thought it might be the battery or the charger, leaving on the charger it never worked again. I contacted the Yamaha service center called Sport Dimension….save yourself a call! They wanted me to put a meter on the battery and charger or send it in for repair. 15 minutes of use for a $1000, I’ll just return it and battle these guys for my money back since it’s now used! I gave it one star due to Amazon delivery…the only good thing in this whole process!

This item has a fatal error with the battery. It won’t hold a charge after initial charge. We bought ours last summer and didn’t have an opportunity to use it until this summer. $500 for a one time ride. A replacement battery is $400. The whole thing new was just under $600.No assistance from Amazon holding the manufacturer to good practice merchandising. Since then I’ve researched this item. And this is a chronic, well known issue. And still no refund or any attempt to compensate.

We had one of the older BRP scooters, large, heavy and cumbersome to use. So it did not get used as much as it should have. Saw this at Boat Show in West Palm in March and ordered it immediately, ended up getting off Amazon due to lack of availabilty. We use it off our boat and storage is always an issue, not with the Jet Pod, it is very compact and easy to use. Now it is used almost every time we go into the water, easy to re-charge although a second battery would be usefull due to how popular and easy it is to use. I think it is very well made and top quality.

We purchased two of these and the motors on both locked up in less than a year, despite thorough rinsing after use. Costs more that the unit to repair. Lots of fun, but needs to be re-engineered.

We purchased the JetPro in early June. Less than two weeks later, it would lose traction in high gear.We sent the JetPro to a service center in Florida. Because we had opened the front cover (to check if anything was stuck in it), the warranty was voided. We were told that “a rope” might have been stuck in it and that the battery would need to be replaced. Cost of the repairs: $500.We ordered the battery separately from the Yamaha licensed site (because it is not available on Amazon). Another $500. The battery failed to charge after one week. We sent two messages using the contact details from the site, and one email using the listed email address and called several times.We never received an answer, nor were we able to contact anybody by phone or leave a message. Amazon cannot help and gave us the phone number for the music instruments division of Yamaha. So, no help there either.The JetPro is a wonderful machine. I had waited 40 years to find something like that. Total cost: $2,000, no support, and no hope to have it work again (I won’t buy another battery until they can confirm that it is not the charging station that is problematic).Very disappointing. Stay away.

Im excited to be the first to write a review. I waited many, many years to buy an underwater scooter. I read all reviews, and focused on cost and speed. Today was the first time I used the Yamaha Jetpod. This scooter is way faster than I thought and the run time is really good. I will update as I continue to use it.
