The directions are clear, and the beautifully laid-out photos make everything feel approachable and inspiring. The designs are stunning, and the level of detail is truly appreciated—it’s the perfect motivation to keep practicing and learning. Embroidery is such a beautiful art form, and this book showcases that perfectly. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to take their skills to the next level! Happy to have it on my shelf! Review: Beautiful and Detailed - Im teaching myself embroidery and I started with a few samplers and some kits to practice. I wanted to get a book to learn some new techniques and came across Paint with Thread. I bought Through the seasons first, mainly because it was on sale. When I say this is the most beautiful book I own, im not exaggerating. Its lovely. The patterns included look challenging but the step by step instructions are thorough and easy to follow, so im sure ill be OK. I went back and ordered "In the Garden" because I couldn't stop thinking about it, it should be delivered today and review that one as well.

WOW!!!
Not only is this a beautiful book, but I find it very easy to read and understand. I own a lot of embroidery books & I think this is one of the best! Because I do like embroidery books, I think this is one of the best because of several things: it's a hardback; it's just beautiful inside & out; it is very well organized without too much clutter on the page; hey, I'm 62, so I appreciate the history of embroidery, however, I love the internet links given in the book. The instruction is top-notch: great pics & the easiest explanations I've read. Sooooo excited to do more stitching!!!

Beautiful book and very good instructions
The book is beautiful and the instructions for the projects are very good. I think even if you just do one project in this book it’s worth the price of the book. I did the bee and like others have said it seems the images of the finished work must have been edited to seem more vibrant or she listed the wrong DMC colors because the finished project colors a a lot more muted colors. I would say they are more like gal colors than bright spring colors they appear in the photo. Other than that it’s a great boom and I love the cottage vibe projects. I left off all the little stitches between flowers it felt to busy to me.

What a beautiful book.
Some of the adjectives I can use to describe this book: beautiful, charming, informative, darling, wonderful, amazing, skillsharing, clear... This book makes me happy just by existing and she's a fantastic artist. I have learned so much just from her technique explanations. I utterly adore this book. It may be my favorite embroidery book ever, both in my own collection and honestly, overall. I brought this out at the fiber arts gathering and it made the rounds while everyone oohed and ahhed over it. It's truly a perfect thing. There are even iron on transfers in the back for you to use - I cannot bring myself to actually do it though lol... I am ridiculous I realize, but I do like that they are in there.

Really inspiring book and patterns
I am a long time crafter, new to embroidery. Great book, very inspiring. I like her suggestions, go with smallest needle and single embroidery floss thread to get the detail, let's you "paint" as the author suggests. This was only my 2nd embroidery project, but I'm inspired to do many more. Beautiful book and patterns.

A lovely embroidery technique
I have thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is beautifully published right from the hard cover and is easy to open flat to read. It is written by a young woman from the UK who has an easy and friendly manner. The verbiage is such that it seems she is sitting next to you giving you step by step instructions. It truly is step by step too. The format is such that each instruction has a number and a corresponding picture of the referenced instruction. The photography is very close up so the stitches are almost magnified and easy to see what the author is instructing. There are 5 designs in the book: dandelion, sunflower, mushroom, robin, bumble bee. All of them are step by step instructions right down to the tiniest detail. They start with less challenging and go on to more challenging. If you follow Emillie’s directions, with practice, you will be successful. This technique is not a quick hobby that can be whipped up in a few hours. Relax, enjoy the process. It is not an especially expensive hobby. A piece of fabric, some needles, hoop and thread and you are good to go. This technique is done with one single thread in order for the colors to blend well. Emillie show you where to make the color changes and what colors she has used (DMC #s) for her projects. You can use those colors or pick your own colors. So, slow down and enjoy the process. I would definitely recommend this book for someone who wants to learn this technique. Good job, Emillie!
