Yay! Keeps cool air in...hot air out!
When the accordian side panels to my five year old window unit finally bit the dust...I figured it was time to replace them with something besides a bunch of old towels and some cardboard. These window panels are easy to trim...and will fit in the existing extenders if your air conditioner has them. If you don't...you can use the supplied sticky channel. My husband and I had them installed in 15 minutes...and noticed quite a difference in the coolness of the room....and they're a lot better looking than towels and cardboard.Since they're foam...and compress...if your window is as uneven as mine is...it actually works better than the original plastic side panels. If you think industrial grey is ugly...you can cut some paper or cardboard to fit in front of the foam in the channel.I recommend locking your window sash when using these...both to avoid having your air conditioner fall out your window...and discourage someone from using your air conditioner unit as a handy way to get in your house. (They don't screw in like the accordian panels do.) You can buy a simple "L" bracket at the hardware store to secure the sash.

Worked
I bought this for insulation. That are supposed to replace your AC sides but I cut them down and used duck take to put them on top of my excisiting. Worked much better. Kerps my apartment much more insulated.

nice
I really needed sides for my AC because frankly, cardboard looked ugly and cheap. These things made my AC look a lot nicer and they were easy to cut to fit the sides. Good product abnd plenty left over if I needed more

Lacks Suitable Structural Integrity (Flimsy)
As some others have noted, the foam panels are floppy and don't support their own weight. The "saw-tooth" cross-sections of the two panels I received are different, making one panel much thinner at its base and more flimsy than the other. The adhesive strips on the side channels do not adhere on even a clean surface for very long.

Truly worthless. Read the reviews carefully.
Truly a worthless product. I read a few 1-star reviews and thought, "it can't be so bad" since there are so many positive reviews for this product as well... but I was wrong! This product has no structure, it's just floppy corrugated foam in two pieces. Worse than that, the plastic brackets are not attached to it in any way. The foam slides up and down freely. Worse than that (even), the adhesive strips are weak. For me, this product is worthless. It does not block the spaces around the AC in my daughters' room. To try to salvage any utility from the cut and broken pieces, I used the plastic brackets to create a stick that would hold the window closed. Within 40 minutes, the two plastic brackets failed to stick to each other: that's adhesive to adhesive. All that remains, is a pile of foam and plastic garbage.Read the reviews carefully. Most of the postiive reviews are actually for a/c filters. I also ordered an a/c filter from the same vendor and it's fine. Amazon should investigate this since the reviews for this product will probably mislead other customer (like yourself) into buying a piece of garbage with no utility.

Works well - easy to use.
I use this panels over my existing panels, which came with the AC, for extra insulation. The panels are easy to trim/cut and easy to put in place. I didn't even use the self adhesive installation strips, I just squeezed it between window frame and AC and it holds perfectly (goes back to its former shape after you squeezed it).Does the job: Keeps HEAT out and COOL AIR in.

I did not use the product yet.....
... because I purchased it after the summer was over to be ready for next season. But I checked the new "accordeon" and I have to say for insulating purpose it's better quality then the original side panel which came with the unit. I don't mind dark color, because my AC unit is dark too, so it goes together well. The material the panel is made of is easy to trim to needed size. My AC unit is still running well and I am happy, that I can refresh its look and use it for few more years.

DO NOT BUY !! FLIMSY
If you like wasting money then buy this. If not do not buy this. It’s flimy as hell. The adhesive sucks on here won’t stick at all. It just super soft foam that won’t stay attached to my ac. This sucks!
